I see this as a great deal for all parties. We make a very nice profit on a player that didn't have a long term future with us, Wolves get a player with real potential and his head on straight for a fair price, and Zinchenko gets to start his career off proper at an ambitious club where if all goes well he could be one of their better players and maybe get a move somewhere else down the line. Good luck Oleks!

Hopefully this is a model we can use for the future. Promote a youth player or two, let them fill in if there is a need, and if they aren't quite up to standard, move them on in a year or two for the next. Good business.

Wasn’t quite the level we need. Decent player but thought he was very one dimensional in his play. All the best to him

Don’t think he is / was quite as good as people made out. Good signing for wolves and seems a nice lad.
I agree. He seemed to plateau after a few games to a level that was below what we need, even if he showed encouraging signs. The basic fundamentals are there, but it never seemed to consistently add up for me. We probably feel he could get there, but then again he might not. So £16m, most of which is profit, is a good result for all parties. For Wolves they’ve got a utility player for good money and we have a (better than expected) profit, which is all he was ever signed for.

This goes back to the point many posters make, that if we chuck a few of our young squad players in the first team a little more often, where 10 superior players are pulling for the youngster, we turn £1-2m into £12-20m sales profit.

Good luck to the lad. He should have a good career in professional football, probably better than he thought, after signing for City.

relying on Delph and mendy to stay fit then...

never thought he had longevity here, good luck to him

I reckon Luke Bolton gave good food for thought. Not as a left back, but offers full back cover. Laporte too. We can't conduct business based on who may get injured.

Think it's fair all round. We have to show we'll give players a chance, with him we did. We've progressed his career from £1m chancer to a £16m Prem player. He's set for life. He's a great argument for how City can further your career.

I really like the lad, the very best of luck to him.

His transfer would allow us to act quickly tomorrow if an opportunity arised, or very early in the new year if a player we like becomes available.

I’d keep him. Firstly a very good footballer, secondly a great attitude, thirdly looks like he’s the type that would/wants to improve and fourthly hasn’t yet played in his favored attacking position...
Not to mention he’s really entertaining when presenting MOM to a team-mate....

Wonder what position he will play there?

Indeed.
And I think it's good for his development to leave the comfort zone surrounded by top players and show his quality on HIS position, whatever it is.

City have enough and better versatile players and he needs to play regularly.
Good luck Oleks and see you soon!

Been saying for a while now Wolves will have a good season. Top half me thinks.

Just watch us sell Zinchenko to Wolves when our left backs are an injury-prone young Frenchman and an injury-prone central midfielder.
