Olives

That was my first thought too but no it's sufficiently mild it's not a big problem. If I use a nice olive oil just as a dip then I get a sore throat but it's worth it. Cooking with it doesn't really seem to cause a problem which is just as well or I'd be absolutely screwed.

Ah thats manageable then pal, love my bruschetta and fresh pasta coated in it. I even used to drink shots of the stuff when I was trying to eat a daft amount of calories a day for weight training lol.

Never tried drinking it in shots but can happily just sit dunking Italian breads into it all day. A bruschetta with good quality ingredients is one of life's top simple pleasures.
