Olivia’s killer guilty - Minimum of 42 years

Mercer who killed Rhys only got 22 years minimum but I think he was a kid at the time of the shooting so it will be longer than that.

Yes, that guy was sentenced as a juvenile, which also means he can request a review of the sentence at half way.

This one won’t have that.

The sentencing hearing is being shown live on Sky News shortly anyway.

Cashman 'heard CPS singing We are the Champions' after verdicts

Justice Yip enters, and we are ready to begin the sentencing.

Cashman is not present in the dock.

Mr Cooper says: “He was aware the CPS were singing ‘We are the Champions’ on Friday, loudly.

“When the matter was raised with them, they said, we are entitled to.”

Justice Yip: “With respect Mr Cooper I don’t think that has anything to do with whether he is in court to hear his sentence and the reasons for his sentence.”

Mr Cooper counters: “With respect, My Lady, it does.”

He says: “He has been spoken to and given certain advice, but is concerned that the matter is turning into a circus.”

He says the defendant wishes to be sentenced in his absence.

The judge says: “I have directed he should come up to court. I do regard it as being disrespectful to the court, that is of less importance, but also to others interested in particular the family of the deceased.”

Justice Yip says she will proceed to sentence in his absence.

A Scouser offended by chanting. Surely not??? Offended by everything. Ashamed of nothing.
