Olivia’s killer guilty - Minimum of 42 years

We need to get rid of the Second Amendment and tighten up legislation so bad guys don’t have access to guns!

Oh wait, Liverpool, ENGLAND, not Liverpool, Illinois, USA?!

I thought there were no guns, or gun crimes in England?!

What next, a “Today’s shooting in England thread”?!

Firearm-related death rate per 100k population per year:

US : 12.21

UK : 0.23

The difference in figures is similar for the general homicide rate too.

US is 4.46 per 100k, UK is 0.06 per 100k of population.

Because there’s the odd gun death in Britain, it doesn’t mean the general public not having guns isn’t a fucking bright idea.

I don’t necessarily believe the statistics. Probably the same in the 90s as well as now but I know for a fact there’s been burglaries on my street, yet according to the stats the only crime committed in the last few years has been a stolen bike… which is laughable.

Which jurisdiction?

@Scottyboi that didn't answer the question. Do you legalise everything, every drug that is known and leave a gap for when they invent a new one ?
Further, like cigarettes if you tax it the criminals can still sell it cheaper so they still make a profit.

Legalise everything, and criminals cannot mass produce and perfect the drug better than a corporation. People will choose the real deal to some shit gear from a nobody.

There were also 3,561 shootings in Chicago in 2021, 797 resulted in deaths. That same year there were only 600 homicides in the UK by any means.

There’s 2.5 million people in Chicago and 67.7 million in the UK.

I think guns aren’t good mate.

They have stopped publishing their figures I believe that's what the ONS says anyway, fuck knows why they have to be different I've not looked if they provide them elsewhere.
That would make sense.

One bike robbery in 2018 it says when I’ve literally seen and reported two burglaries myself and there’s been a third where they’ve actually arrested people is confusing.

If you wanted to buy tobacco would you buy it from Sainsburys or the man in the run down corner shop knowing it could be laced with any old shit. Strange as it may seem to you, loads do the later.
Carousel fraud is also huge in the uk, if you are goingvto legalise it, don't tax it
What kind of cigarettes are sold in a run down shop? Serious question (as a non smoker all my life)
Are there counterfeit B&H or Silk Cut?

Over 80,000 cases missed off the figures due to them moving to a new system the MEN says.

Meth Amphet ! You are happy to legalise meth amphet and allow it to be sold over the counter to an 18 year old !
Ketamine ? Rohipnol ?
The psychoactive drugs produced in China that are based loosely round mdma except they keep changing the formula and so you cant really legislate for or against them.
How much thc should be allowed in skunk ?

I think bad people with guns doing bad things “aren’t good” either.

I guess not everyone recognizes me as the “face of guns” meme on this Forum, even though I’m nothing of the sort.

I’m actually strongly in favor of heavy restrictions and registration, but I also understand the current reality of 2A in America and the fact that there are literally more guns in circulation than people.

To save others the trouble, I’ll make it plain:

- I was being provocative!
- I was pointing out that guns, like many American staples, are becoming increasingly available and used in England.
- England is on a slippery slope if this starts to be treated with kid gloves in the courts, and needs to be nipped in the bud…as does knife crime.
- Too many people here are reflexive on America’s gun problem without any historical, or political, context.

Therein lies the joke in my original post!

Yes sometimes counterfeit, more often smuggled in from Europe where the tax is lower or carousel fraud. As soon as the ciggies leave the factory they are taxed, as soon as they leave the UK you claim the tax back, by which time you have loaded the cigs onto a different lorry and brought them back into the uk as 'washing machines.' You then have very cheap legit cigs.
My point being and why I mentioned counterfeit washing powder, we all want it as cheap as possible. If you are going to legalise it, ffs, don't tax it.
