Olivia’s killer guilty - Minimum of 42 years

Whilst we are talking about counterfeit stuff. For a number of years I was involved in the 'grey market' for a number of companies. I regularly had to go to the main customs/Post office facility in Coventry. Illegal drugs gets the headlines but don't ever underestimate the huge amount of money criminal gangs make from snide stuff. Manchester, mainly by Strangeways/Cheetham Hill is probably the biggest area in the uk for it.
You may not want to pay full price for your Louis Vuitton man bag but you should think about it every time there is a shooting.

We need to get rid of the Second Amendment and tighten up legislation so bad guys don’t have access to guns!

Oh wait, Liverpool, ENGLAND, not Liverpool, Illinois, USA?!

I thought there were no guns, or gun crimes in England?!

What next, a “Today’s shooting in England thread”?!

Christ, you got a few with that one.

something doesn’t add up on this at all….

In what way? Something sounded odd that somebody would hear shooting at 10pm and open the door unless there was someone banging on the door. Even then you'd think fuck that I'm not opening the door. You'd look through a window to see what was happening. Perhaps she knew the person the gunman was chasing? Pure speculation of course but if i heard a possible violent commotion outside the last thing I would do is go to the front door.

Perhaps she didn't hear a gunshot. Perhaps just she heard an unusual noise and wondered what it was. No one is connecting her or her family to the scum that did this that I can see.

On a related note, over the weekend an Environmental Health Officer was murdered (shot) in Liverpool. Police say she was totally innocent and it was mistaken identity. This seems to be the same in that the fame were totally innocent.
The poor woman will now regret her actions for the rest of her life but in all honesty, they were perfectly normal actions hindsight is sometimes total shit.

I know mate but you just don't open the door at 10pm for any reason, as you say hindsight is shit but if you live in a major City you mind your business or snoop from a window to see what's happening. It sounds like she was a woman on her own too.

The gloves need to come off to smash all these scumbags and the drug dealing gangs. Fucking harass them to death and give them long sentences when caught.

Exactly what I said to the missus earlier.

Luckily I live in a third floor flat, so can't "open the gront door", but I wouldn't have gone out on the balcony either if I thought there were gunshots outside, at least not until it stopped.

Very sad though, and that mum who opened the door is going to have a really hard time thinking of why she opened the door.

It's odd mate, especially if alone with a daughter. Anybody who grows up in a tough City are streetwise. A gun bring fired is loud, usually distinctive and I would guess there was shouting too. All conjecture of course it was a strange decision to open the door, even more so as that poor young woman had been shot dead in the same City only days earlier.

Fucking hell, are certain people blaming the mum for being nosey? Get a fucking grip you curtain twitchers.

Absolutely shocking but not so for this country that has allowed these things to happen.

Can you imagine this for just opening your door?

Nobody is actually blaming her but look it wasn't the wisest decision in the world was it? In a safe world you'd be able to leave your door unlocked, walk anywhere you like and at anytime day or night. We don't though as we are fearful of what could happen. The same as hearing gunshots or a commotion at 10pm at night, you are bloody careful and/or call the old bill.

exactly i think she knew the 35yo and. opened door to him because abit random to open door same moment he’s near house?! but same 35yo isn’t named or know which hospital he’s at???!

Well they wouldn't name which hospital for fear of someone going to finish him off.

According to the Daily Fail, the men were 100 yards from the house, and the guy being chased saw the light once she opened the door and ran in. So she must’ve seen them coming towards the house but only shut the door when the gunman reached it

Tragic whatever happened but that door would have been slammed shut sharpish, mind you people often freeze when confronted with something violent or unusual.

Scousers are more rooted in the "Don't grass" culture than most other people I know and you'd think on that basis alone you'd keep your door shut and head down. Sadly it's done now.

If I heard what I thought was gun shots, I might (or might not) look out of the window, but I wouldn't go and open the door to see what was going on, that's not blaming her, it's simple common sense imho.

Nobody brought up in a major City would. Nobody would also want to draw attention to themselves by opening a door at the sound of gunshots/confrontation outside for fear of becoming a target themselves.
