Probably as simple as him getting a substantial payrise. I could care less, its not like they have nicked Haaland from us. I'm sure we will hire somebody equally competent to replace him.

I think it’s a £2m a year salary there without bonuses so probably more than doubling his money.

We don't "need" anybody. Doesn't mean we clearly valued him very highly and will be a loss to us. More than that though, we wouldn't have employed him and promoted him numerous times and wouldn't have reportedly saw him as the natural in-house successor should any of his superiors leave their roles if he wasn't a very capable person. He's not going to allow united to continue to be the laughing stock they currently are. That's over when he takes charge.
