Omar Berrada to the rags

I do hope we won't be seeing pictures of Berrada out for dinner with pep, txiki, sorriano and co. in the near future. Not suggesting they end decades long friendships with him entirely but he needs to be treated as the direct rival and competitior he now is at the very least if not the enemy.

Can't expect to still be best mates with the city hierarchy whilst he's over in Salford trying to revive the team who was most desperate to stop everything he helped build at city before it started.

Nobody would have begrudged him leaving for a similar role anywhere else other than united or the dippers. We can't act all nice over this, treat it as a direct attack and a betrayal and retaliate.

I don’t think Omar will be dinning in Tast Catala on King Street in the future.

If it’s true Omar is already on gardening leave, he’ll be back in Barcelona by now. No point in clearing his desk at City.

All I have to say to Omar is good luck working with Glazers you’re going to need it. If he thinks he will get the majority of the say for his plans with Utd he’s got another thing coming

Love how it took 6 years to not yet find us innocent of ffp rules
Yet the times have confirmed Omar’s innocence within 2 hours
Been having a chuckle at a few fucknuggets who have taken this as gospel.

For anybody to be able to say that with any confidence they'd need unrestricted access to the entire case against us. For any journalist to have that at this stage is probably highly illegal and would also perhaps put the case itself in jeopardy.

But assuming for a second they do have this level of access, why are they perfectly fine telling the world he's got no involvement in any of the charges, but they haven't leaked a single bit of information about a much, much bigger story and one of the biggest sporting stories on the planet?

It's like knowing the next draws lottery numbers but only matching enough for a tenner.

Just basic reasoning and questioning will tell anybody of sound mind they're clearly talking out of their arse.

all these united fans had absolutely no idea who he was before they appointed him
Now they think they are back
Funny to listen to the media narrative around him.
When was the last article saying how great he was at city
Guys a cog in the city machine. United now have one cog, a shit manager, shot players etc

Exactly
The all knew fuck all till ornstein announced it
Now they are tweeting like they are in the know
I suspect it’s all on an email to them from Berrada. Keep reading the same shit like it’s a copy and paste job

And there you have it.

It must be true, Sly Stone wrote the article.

City had earlier confirmed Berrada's resignation, commenting: "The club understands his decision to look for a new challenge and he leaves with our thanks and best wishes."

It is understood Berrada will start in his new role in the summer, with the circumstances around his exit being described as amicable.

BBC Sport has been told Berrada agonised over his decision before making the move given the relative state of the two clubs.

For their part, City believe the fact United have come after one of their senior executives underlines their status as one of the best run of all the big clubs across Europe. They are confident their current executive team, led by chief executive Ferran Soriano will continue unhindered by Berrada's exit.

Maybe, just maybe, he felt that hes taken City as far as could go and just needed a new challenge. And lets be honest thats one fucking big challenge over there.

Anyone with brains and ambition wouldn't take that job.. they're going to be weighed down by massive contracts for at least 3 years.

So it's a quick payday and he can spend the rest of his life with a good supply of wine.

An impossible challenge. ;-)

I wouldn't say impossible but it's like having to score 15000 runs in an ODI innings to win.. you're gonna need a hell of a lot of no balls to make that happen!

BTW If his main job was to do with sponsorships.. needless to say the rags signed him because they aren't doing too good with those and Glazers might be looking for cash.

But how many of those people who knew him will say no thanks.. we'll stay with City over his new digs? Probably a healthy chunk!

And his so called contacts with companies won't change the fact that they will be much more interested in a club that's regularly in the latter stages of the CL, rather than one that can't even come third in a group with FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray.

You’re right, City can’t do anything about it. It happens all the time in big business. Directors and people in senior management positions are always enticed by other companies and rivals, especially when they are offered a more powerful job and better pay.

It would be interesting to know if Omar was honest and upfront with City about being offered the job at United and his desire to take it and to leave City, or if City found out what Omar was planning and confronted him about it.
What you mean confronted?

This: -:)

I knew it was you Omar! You don’t go against the blue family! Take the charges with you ya filthy animal…

Or

Initially it will be awkward for Omar. But eventually it will be water off a ducks back for him. He’ll do his job at United just like he did at City. No doubt Omar has been given assurances by Scruffy Jim.

As I said perhaps he wants a new challenge and that is a fucking big challenge.
