What interactions worked or were memorable to you? Also which failed you would think should work?

Much of this is at minimum imposed on the actors/actresses with the quality of the script. Choreography along with cinematography, sound design etc can all affect how we perceive a scene or entire film. Chemistry can beat some of the bad or accentuate the good.

Which stand out to you? good, bad or just memorable scenes in an otherwise poor, fantastic or indifferent film?

The Nice Guy's

Russel Crowe and Ryan Gosling, Well made film but made better by the chemistry of the two. Not the most prominent when you think of on screen chemistry but starting the thread knocking off all the popular ones won't make for a good thread will it! They mix well bringing a believable relationship whilst pushing the film forward with a comical edge. Both leads carry off their character to perfection imo.

  1. Stanley Baker and Michael Caine in Zulu - bounce off each other well
  2. Jack lemon and walter Matthau in the odd couple - the comedic chemistry is spot on
  3. Sandra bullock and Keanu reeves in The Lake House - apparently fancied each other and it came across
  4. Steve oram and Alice Lowe in sightseers - The comedic chemistry and serious moments were seamless.

Newman & Redford - Butch Cassidy (1969)
Newman & Redford - The Sting (1973)
Hoffman & Redford - All The President's Men (1976)

DeNiro & Pesci - Raging Bull / Goodfellas / Casino
DeNiro & Grodin - Midnight Run (1988)

Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy - The 'Before' Trilogy

Best on screen chemistry I've ever seen is where Lord Percy invents some "green" in Blackadder.
My 2nd favourite episode of Blackadder. Every scene in that episode is fantastic
