City boys we are here,sh*g your women and drink yo
I'm taking my wife to the match vs West Ham tonight.
My pal has transferred his ticket to her as he's away on holiday for 2 weeks.
The last time she went to a competitive City match with me was also a night game on the 8th November 1981 vs Middlesborough at Maine Road.
We went on the Platt Lane as she was 2 months pregnant with our oldest daughter, and she didn't fancy standing on The Kippax in her condition. And I think City won 3-2 that night.
Although she did stand with me on the Kippax vs Aston Villa in 1979 when she first knew me .
And previous to that she had visited Maine Road regularly in 1973/74/75 when Rodney Marsh was her favourite player, along with Mickey Horswill.
And it will be her second visit to The Etihad tonight,as she went with me to the opening game at the stadium vs Barcelona, but that was only a friendly game.

Now that's a piss take if ever I saw one.

I, personally, don’t get the negative comments about Manclad’s post, what exactly am I missing? Why the negativity, he got his wife to attend a game, she probably doesn’t like football as much as we do, but I am glad she has agreed to see the best team in the World this evening. I am retired and live in Bournemouth, simply can’t afford to travel to Manchester very often and the success of the club means it is almost impossible to get a ticket these days. If anyone calls me plastic I will quit the forum immediately, I have supported City since I first discovered football in the early 1960s, at the age of 6. I went to Maine Road many times, although I never lived in Manchester, although grandparents lived in Saddleworth. I wish I could win the lottery so I can get to see this great club’s team play live like they do on the telly. Plastic fans are the ones who joined when United lost Beckham and Baconface

Cheers pal. I'm hoping that the other guys are just joshing with me.
She's always been a City fan, but due to work rotas, raising 3 children and also finances she could never accompany me to a game.
Tonight it's a free ticket, she's retired from work and kids all have their own lives and their own kids.
And just in case it winds anybody else up, she's going on Saturday vs Leeds as well.
My pal is 65 on Saturday ( Coronation Day) and is in Sicily for 2 weeks.

The bit I highlighted. No-one could possibly have Mickey Horswill as their favourite player. By the way, I hope she enjoys tonight and comes back for more.
She actually started to like him after watching the 1973 FA Cup Final when he played for Sunderland.
So she was over the moon when he subsequently signed for City.
No accounting for taste is there ?
