My late father in law had one of those. Used to drive it back ftom the pub Sat and Sun nights with his missus in it with him. They were made single seat and were really unstable, a few times he rolled it over going too fast. Great memories of those days. Well done for posting.
On our way from school at lunchtime, one flipped over on a roundabout. Only took about 6 of us to right it with the FOC still inside. Didn’t have a steering wheel, something more like a bike handlebar.
I remember those hand-cranked trikes! 'Father' from the local (very high church) CE church used to have one in Gorton. It was an amazing contraption, and vaguely sinister.
They used to be parked up in front of the Platt Lane End. I was watching a match on the telly t'other day from the 70s or 80s. Think it was Oldham - they had one of the original style minis parked up in front of the perimeter wall! I still await Beswick Prize Band to make an appearance at The Etihad!
