Every time one went past the school playground during a break, we all used to rush over to the fence and cheer it on.

At what age does one officially become an FOC?

The Invacar thing has always puzzled me. They were all over the place when I was a kid and then suddenly all disappeared.

Turns out (thanks wikipedia) that On 31 March 2003, all Invacars owned by the government were recalled and scrapped because of safety concerns.

I was shocked it was 2003, I'd have guessed about mid-80's

But what puzzles me is this: they were outlawed as unsafe, yet I often see people now on open mobility scooters, crawling along, and they are deemed to be Ok? How so?
