One Midfielder, One Forward

I'm only asking. Please don't senselessly lambaste me.

Most people have the consensus that Mancini is going to play far more orthodox 'italian' formations. However, looking at the humiliating defeats some of the imperious italian teams suffered, are we going to get far in europe (as far or further than spurs) this season? I'm of the conviction that we're likely going to be very dynamic. Our team can certainly be effective in a number of ways. Can someone just reassure me about our European debut?

Mancini hasn't previously done well in Europe.

But that doesn't bother me since Real and Barcelona will most likely dominate. I just want a good showing in Europe, I'm not expecting us to beat Real or Barca.

The league is what I most care about, not Europe.

Sneijder, Nasri, and Aguero in 1 transfer window? I know we're building a powerhouse of a team now but surely that's a bit unrealistic?

The thing though is you can consider Sneijder, the midfielder which fits in with the Tevez-Inter talks and how they met at the beach in Italy.

You can also consider Nasri as the winger/forward that Mancini is talking about because well he played a wide role for the majority of last season.

Sneijder + Nasri. That'd be fookin' crazy.
^^This^^ And I still believe Mata & possibly another forward may still be an option. We are only 2 players off this line-up which would match any in the Premier League or Europe.... It's incredible to think how far we've progressed in 3 years!!! If we also had Mata on the bench..........?

________Silva____________Aguero________Nasri________

_______________________Sneijder___________________

_________________Yaya____________NDJ_________________

Clichy___________Lescott_________Kompany_____Richards

________________________Hart___________________

We have Balotelli and Dzeko to consider aswell, I believe when he talks about a midfielder, he means a player to replace Barry so someone like De Rossi and a winger could be Nasri, Mata or Cerci. What we have to remember is that the Aguero deal is in anticipation of Tevez leaving so the expenditure has to run close to the income from a Tevez sale which means a deal involving Sneijder is unlikely. He's fitted for the rags.

For financial reasons, i think people can forget Sneijder.

Nasri + Cerci is the most likely combination at the moment.

I don't think getting both Sneijder and Nasri would be reasonable. One of them plus a classic creative midfielder would be ideal, imho.

Yup...but i just meant that Sneijders transfer fee (around 35m pounds) + his 200k+/a week wages alone rules him out. With FFP.....the club can't afford that.

While Nasri is younger, his transfer fee and wages are lower also. People have to look at the financial side aswell before expecting them to sign.

Has the signing of Aguero taught you nothing..?

Asked in what areas the club were also looking to strengthen, he replied: "The middle and like a winger.

"One midfielder, one winger."

it has, just saying that a transfer window like that would be revolutionary.
