One Midfielder, One Forward

Have we replaced Given? No mention of a goalkeeper?

IMO if we do it will be to replace Taylor.
On the midfield front if we don't want to spend megabucks and feel we will be able to get Nasri on the cheap by waiting till Christmas

Swap Ade for Diarra and buy Cerci total outlay 6.5m.

In January possibly get Nasri for half the price at the moment and it sems the Brazillians are going to get the money together to buy Tevez at Christmas. If that were to occur our overall spending for this window will probably be zero if we don't replace Tevez with another striker, trouble is at that time of year it will be nigh impossible to get one.

Midfielder = Parker
Winger = Oxfam-Chambermaid

I guess. Only this.

Or Modric and Bale (lol - the south would implode)

I hope Cerci wont come. Fiorentina fans would be happy to see him leave for 6-7 millions. That says it all...
He hadnt a good season, he would come to a stronger/faster league we saw what happened with Kolarov.

SWP, AJ, Weiss - I don't think Cerci is any better. No way.
We could talk at least about Mata, now he would be an upgrade to AJ, SWP. But Cerci? No fucking way.

Even SWP has better skills. He had a good pre-season. He wants to stay. He is OK with the bench role.

Please Cerci NO. Not even if his price is only 6 m.

parker would be like having a next barry plese no

--------------------------------Aquero/Dzeko--------------------------------------------

------------Silva/Balo-------------------Sniejder/Silva-------------------Eto/AJ-----------

Tevez and adjustment, for Sniejder and Eto (Centre and like Winger)

Bale would be great but it would be such a complex and expensive deal that it probably isn't worth pursuing this season.

Nasri and Lavezzi (using him as a winger/wide forward like Bellers) would be two big, but expensive (combined) signings.

Cerci would be majorly underwhelming for me and yet seems more likely going by the latest press reports.

Mancini wants 4 strikers. Here's the longer press conference video:

IMO, i think ade will be swapped out with either a gago, diarra, granero, especially after bringing in sahin, one of them have to go, get ade off the books and real get another striker everyone is happy. Moreover I dont understand why we have not picked up mata who can play the left side or float around the mid, which is exactly what is needed, and way less than nasri, who at 23 mil on his last year is insane, let him play his last year and if likes the look of this squad throw a sign on bonus and have him join next year.

yeh id like nasri but 23 mill is bonkers get mata and maybe sign nasri on a free next season makes financial sense. either way what a team we have and its going to get better happy days.

Spurs in for Mata...

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/30/tottenham-hotspur-juan-mata" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011 ... -juan-mata</a>

Tottenham Hotspur last night sought to beat Arsenal to the signing of the Valencia forward Juan Mata by tabling a bid worth close to €25m (£22m). Arsenal, whose manager, Arsène Wenger, admitted that Mata is a player he likes, remain the favourites to sign the 23-year-old but are yet to make a formal bid. Initial talks have suggested that Arsenal would offer less than Spurs, at least to begin with.

Mata's preference is to join Arsenal but, with Harry Redknapp making little secret of his pursuit of attacking players over the past six months, Spurs are seeking to force Valencia's hand and bring pressure to bear on the player. Mata's camp, though, is awaiting definitive movement from Arsenal. That may yet depend on the departure of Cesc Fábregas. Sources at Barcelona said they are cautiously optimistic about signing the midfielder – and that it was him or no one.

Mata, whose contract allows him to depart Valencia for €21m before 1 August, is open to a move to the Premier League. He already speaks a little English. Valencia, too, are keen to sell, with the sporting director, Braulio Vázquez, admitting: "We are ready if [Mata] does depart." The Spanish club's huge debt requires the annual sale of key players and Mata looks set to follow the footsteps of David Villa and David Silva to the exit.

According to an agreement reached when Mata last renewed his contract, Valencia are obliged to sell to a foreign club that matches the €21m bar before Monday. Spurs have made an offer that exceeds that minimum fee in order to strengthen their hand.

that'd be bad for all parties...Spurs get a good player, Arse get one less attacking midfielder, they'd be less likely to sell Nasri.

He will go to Arsenal, he said he wants cl footy so that counts spurs out straight away. By all accounts he is good enough to demand that afaik.

Spurs project started at the same time as ours. Look at the difference between the 2 clubs, spurs have stood still we have advanced a lot. Any top player would look at what they say and think well i don't see anything to entice me here they seem to talk bollocks.

That is not really a fair comparison, seeing as we had way more money.

When we were in for sanchez , i knew for sure we would signing a winger.This interview confirms we still want to add a right winger to our squad , even though we have SWP, we still need a more punch in that area .There are not many good right wingers around who can cut across or swing crosses in.Players like Nani,valencia,pedro and ashley young,aaron lenon are great wingers.Lets see who can we sign in the available market.As of the midfielder thing it boils down to nasri and schneider.Tevez in a straight swap for schneider looks good but dont know how things will turn.Can u guys suggest any good right wingers available in the market?

Good point except Sanchez is pretty shite at crossing.
