One Midfielder, One Forward

Yeah, but he said 'like a winger'. Probably talking about a versatile forward. Like a Nasri, etc.

It's interesting because you can classify Nasri as both a midfielder and the forward that Mancini is looking for.

He said ''like a winger'' when he was asked about what position he'll play Aguero in. He said ''in the middle and like a winger'', he certainly wasn't refering to a new player when he said that.

why would he play one of the top 3 best strikers in the world outside like a winger

Doesn't change the fact that Nasri can be considered a winger, as well as midfielder.

I think he meant like Balotelli sometimes plays. Wide of a front three, not exactly a winger.

Re: One Midfielder, One Winger

so did he say we want a midfielder and a winger or that Aguero is going to play as a winger?

I know. You just seemed to assume he was talking about getting a new winger when he said ''like a winger'' which wasn't the case.

No, actually, he was answering in response to what areas is he looking to build on AFTER Aguero.

In the middle.
Like a winger.

Midfielder, and a forward. Thank you.

No it wasn't. He was asked where he wants to strengthen.

This post made me wet myself. Specifically the parts in bold:

It's either:

Nasri and Cerci,
Nasri and Lavezzi
Nasri and Eto'o
Sneijder and Cerci
Sneijder and Lavezzi
Sneijder and Nasri
or Barton and McManaman

And yes, i am ITK.

I'm only asking. Please don't senselessly lambaste me.

Most people have the consensus that Mancini is going to play far more orthodox 'italian' formations. However, looking at the humiliating defeats some of the imperious italian teams suffered, are we going to get far in europe (as far or further than spurs) this season? I'm of the conviction that we're likely going to be very dynamic. Our team can certainly be effective in a number of ways. Can someone just reassure me about our European debut?

The thing though is you can consider Sneijder, the midfielder which fits in with the Tevez-Inter talks and how they met at the beach in Italy.

You can also consider Nasri as the winger/forward that Mancini is talking about because well he played a wide role for the majority of last season.

Sneijder + Nasri. That'd be fookin' crazy.
^^This^^ And I still believe Mata & possibly another forward may still be an option. We are only 2 players off this line-up which would match any in the Premier League or Europe.... It's incredible to think how far we've progressed in 3 years!!! If we also had Mata on the bench..........?

________Silva____________Aguero________Nasri________

_______________________Sneijder___________________

_________________Yaya____________NDJ_________________

Clichy___________Lescott_________Kompany_____Richards

For financial reasons, i think people can forget Sneijder.

Nasri + Cerci is the most likely combination at the moment.
