unconfirmed reports it said on talksport that he's fallen out with the chairman.
INTERESTING
How would you lot feel with him at City?

I find him to be a poison dwarf who hops around the touch line moaning at every single refereeing decision going! his teams play terrible, sit back in numbers then hump it high up the middle or long down the wings football which can be effective but is not good to watch and won't ever win a league title in England!

I think it would be a step back from Mancini Hughes and Sven if this guy was our manager!

but Lerner is an amazing owner and example to all other foreigners

Re: oneill leaving villa

As a person, I actually like the guy, always entertaining. As a manager, not for me, I'm happy with what we've got. I'd be surprised if this turned out to be true, but you never know.

Why what? Why would I have him IF Mancini goes?

He has a track record of building successful teams and I think thats what we really need. We don't necessarily need someone who is experienced at managing big clubs we need someone who can build a club and a team up and get them performing above their usual station.

he got Leicester to a few finals and victories at a time when football was not at the standard it is now, (mid 90's). Then he went to Scotland and so whatever he did there can be counted as null as far as i'm concerned because its a nothing league and whilst it was slightly more competitive when he was there than what it is now, it still comes minus 50 out of a million in comparison to the PL. Besides, Villa don't look great do they? They went out of Europe early both this season and last especially. I'd be gutted if we got him.

Mate you can't discount his Celtic achievements. When he arrived the club was in the shit and Rangers had been absolutely dominant for more than a decade. He completely rebuilt the team and the entire atmosphere around the club and also got them performing in Europe for the first time in decades. Villa might not look like a championship winning side but compare their squad to ours this season and can you honestly say we are doing better than them with the resources available to both clubs?

Re: Oneill gone

Collymore says "100% false" and club denying it now. Oh well, destabilizing tactics against Villa can't hurt us.

Not denying he's a good manager, he is, but do we want a 'good' manager? I don't, I want world class, someone who has done something more than have his most achievements come from his time in Scotland. Celtic were good under him, no denying that but they lost the UEFA Cup final, albeit to a Mourinho team. Again, i'm not denying he's a good manager but for me his record doesn't exactly stack up to what I, and most likely our owners, want.

I think he is a good owner, and they lucked out getting the best of the yanks.

I think our owner is the best. I may be biased, and this isn't arse licking, but the amount of money they have put in, and they also keep their heads down, and don't come out with any mad crap, like Frank did.

Not only are they improving the team, but the facilities, the staff, the area surrounding the ground....... Every part of the football club, and with the amount of investment they are putting in, they seem to be in it for the long haul.

We have the best owners, but Horny Teacher is another great example.

Re: Oneill gone

I've been having a read of the Villa boards and most fans can't wait for O'Neil to go. He has his fans of course but most of them don't rate him.

I get what your saying in that he hasn't won the big prizes but how many of the managers that have won the big stuff (eg Prem, La Liga, Siera A, Champ League) have done so with a club where that wouldn't be waht was traditionally expected anyway? Mourinho's champs league with Porto is the only real example of this recently or going back a bit further Van Gaal with Ajax. We are not yet at that level so I feel what we need is someone with a track record of building a club up past their regular position.

Anyway this is all pretty academic now as it seems to be bullshit
