Talksport have a deal with Paddy Power as we all know.

Paddy Power bung talksport a few quid to run a story that a manager has sensationally quit their club..Rafa, O'Neill etc

Talksport announce the story. Then they tell you that paddy power have slashed odds from 100/1 to 16/1 for example.

Everyone thinks, "Fuck me, great odds for him to go when Talksport reckon it's a done deal"

Everyone piles money on it. It turns out to be false.

Talksport make money. Paddy Power make money.

Allegedly of course

Aston Villa have denied rumours that Martin O'Neill has quit the club.

Unconfirmed claims are circulating in the Midlands that the Villa Park chief has resigned following a disagreement with chairman Randy Lerner.

It is understood that the club's American owner wanted to trim the playing squad and cut the wage bill this summer, while O'Neill wanted money to spend to bolster his squad to continue their challenge to break into the top four.

When told that money would not be forthcoming, the Ulsterman is believed to have decided to consider his future, but the club insists he has not resigned.


Villa have an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on April 10. And Chelsea beat Villa 7-1 in the Premier League at the weekend.

O'Neill joined the club in August 2006.

I wouldn't blame him if he did... from an outsider looking in, he's seems to have done a good job there, in contention for 4th, 2 good cup runs...yet the fickle Villa fans booed them on the first game of the season and again last week... most of the board's I have read seem to be full with MON out !!?
