They must be sufficiently wide enough as that was the whole reason for the test.
Clearly they are 'sufficiently' wide enough to meet the regulations BUT the spirals are massively bigger - to quote the planning app:
The ramps are a large and inefficient way of transporting people to the upper concourse and our proposal features traditional stairs set behind a mesh panel.
Inefficient in space I suspect, certainly not capacity

Despite being told that a turnstile had malfunctioned and the fact they had to take boltcutters to a locked door which cuased the big queues yesterday, I have said from day one that those three (fourth one is for away fans) new internal staircases are just nowhere near big enough to get people to/from their seats anywhere like the time/capacity you have with the spirals on the sides whose walkway widths are easily twice the width of those new staircases
I have someone that has to use the lift on match days. As there was a practice evacuation at the end, he was taken to a carousel. We waited for him at entrance N1, so had missed him. I would worry about the likes of him should an actual evacuation be needed.
