Very disappointing. And not having it that it's logistically impossible. Just move them to the other side of the south stand.

The atmosphere will stay shit for ever more.

The only hope is that the current south stand carries on dying a death and they keep moving over to the corner area.

And that becomes the onyl singing area.

What you think of the idea of introducing two new "singing areas" either side of the north stand in blocks 140 and 132 DD?

Agreed Dave. There was always a solution. Even the one I came up with inside half an hour.
Until the club actually try it for 'one match', they will never know if it will work. All I sense is that they say it won't work, so we won't try it.

Also, why not try and emphasis the singing sections. Things like, 'your are entering a singing section' signs, banners, etc. City are great at Social Media <a class="postlink" href="http://pitchinvasion.net/blog/2010/02/10/why-manchester-city-get-social-media/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+PitchInvasion+%28Pitch+Invasion%29" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://pitchinvasion.net/blog/2010/02/1 ... nvasion%29</a> and mind games <a class="postlink" href="http://www.isport.in/site/images/stories/3728668669_aa199aefc6.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.isport.in/site/images/storie ... 9aefc6.jpg</a>, yet they are doing little or nothing to improve the atmosphere inside the stadium on match days.

Disappointing. I appreciate the situation with the away fans being where they are for ease of handling, security, coaches etc but disappointed that they are virtually dismissing all other ideas. The atmosphere will remain shite with the continuance of pathetic 'singing sections'. The damage was obviously done from the start...and with all due respect this stadium was not built with Premier League football nor a well supported side in mind. We need an End...and the North Stand, our Nord Curve, is therefore the only answer. Time for some restructuring, remodelling, resiting if you ask me. Incentivise existing North Standers if they have to re-site if they don't want to be part of it. It's the only answer. It's got to happen. Got to. Those 'European nights' are going to be pretty dreary and 'a fortress' in the Prem will be non-existant if it doesn't. And don't keep mentioning Hamburg, please. Keep your stupid inflatables in the garden shed with the wood lice.

Operation 'ONE END'. Sort it mcfc.

I'm not sure it would be the solution to be honest.

The problem is having two singing areas and noone giving a "lead" to the rest of the stadium.

This could make it worse. The only good thing about it is that these singers would be at the back to the noise would carry. One of the current problems is that the singers are at the front so the sound just drifts into the air.

I just think they only think logistically simple is to relocate the current south stand blues to the place where away fans are. Seat for seat, so no real disruption. I think it would have made a huge difference to the noise coming from the rest of the stadium.

I sit in Colin Bell and they will join in but only if a song is loud enough.

Me and Gstar spoke to Danny at the Bluemoon do, and he basically said, this is not going to happen. All due to safety reasons.

One of the main points were when the Carling cup and FA cup comes around and we have to allocate the 15% for away support where do you put them? For that reason the southstand is most logical.

You cant put the 15% in the 3rd tier, as its a risk them throwing shit, north stand has the family stand, so thats a no go.

Its not gonna happen, we were both told that.

I was watching the Kippax(?) on Tuesday. 'Stand up if you love CITY'(not my fav song TBH) was started in 110, then 109 joined and it stopped dead after that.(108)

Now don't get me wrong, it aint the best song, but all people have to do is stand up for 30 seconds. 3/4's of the Kippax(?) couldn't be arsed. Now I remember on quite a few occasions when we first moved to COMS, all the Kippax used to stand up and it went to the North Stand. Not anymore. Again, another example of fans not being arsed. Until we get a whole end singing and joining in, the ripple affect around the stadium won't ever happen unless it's a big game. And even then we seem to struggle ATM.(United at home in the Carling Cup)

Perhaps the club and a group from both singing sections can get together and come up with ideas for next season. There's no point in doing it now. The remainder of the season and the summer months will give us enough time to come up with and to implement ideas.

Well there's three other ends where noise can be made!

As some of you are aware I (I say I, it's not just me) have organised for the past 2 (and one coming up this weekend) cup games where we've had to surrender the South Stand for blocks 119-121 becoming a bit of a singing section as well. And I think it's been pretty successful each time as we've created some noise.

Slag myself and TBA off all you want, but what we're trying to achieve is what you all want - Our ground and our supporters to be known as loud proud and loyal. Which is something I always associate with growing up as a City fan.

We're not a million miles away from having next seasons season ticket renewels being sent out and I think SOMETHING NEEDS TO HAPPEN about the vocal fans. I was in 117 the other night and everyone is stood up chatting to each other with only about 20% really looking to get behind the team throughout the game.

When we set up TBA it was also to try and get a bigger community amongst the City fans - and I can say that I've met and made loads of new mates over the season who are vocal and want to get behind the team. We need a place to be together.

I like what IP has been suggesting about the two corners of the North Stand, but I was thinking more of 136. The North Stand has got a voice, but it needs someone to clear its throat. Either that or more 120 area, so we don't ever have to relocate for cup games and we're closer to the SS.

This of course would be aimed more at those not in 111/110 - no offense but I'd rather be singing pro-City songs than trying to wind up someone in a salmon shirt because you believe that colour is homosexual!

Thoughts?

I except it ain't going to happen, but there is a compromise. Let home fans into the lower away sections when the away allocation can be accomodated in the upper away tier. Move the concorse barriers and the home fans will move into SS Lower and create a full singing end. WOW! It's not rocket science.

Whats stopping everyone from sitting in the opposite end and having that as our "Kippax"

That's what I have been saying for ages. Bin the idea of the North Stand as a family area and get some singers in there. There are plenty of grounds in the country where away fans get to sit behind the goal and it doesn't seem a problem for these clubs. They get stick but think of the Kop at Liverpool. Opposite the away fans.

The areas around the away fans will always have good banter and singing etc, it's the other end of the ground where it is dead that needs working on. The problem is that people in the South Stand and 110/111 like where they are and being close to the away fans. They look at the North Stand and think why should we move over there? I can't see anything changing in terms of people moving acting as a catalyst for more noise.

The best way to get 'operation one end' going is to try and make the North Stand nosier. If that happens then people may start moving there from 111 and the SS. The Blue Alliance have the right idea and if they can get the North Stand going a bit then people like myself, who have a City Card will be more likely to try and get a seat there. As it is I always try and get a seat in 110/111 because that is where the best atmosphere is in my opinion. People have knocked the TBA lads on here but they are trying to start something big and should be applauded for their efforts.

Its sounds sad but most fans cant be arsed walking round to that end of the stadium, and would rather be in the SS and near the pubs, people are just lazy, plus everytime Ive sat in the NS its been awful just awful never again!

Liam, I've laways backed your campaign. At least your trying matey. However, you need to start making it more public. There's little or no point in keeping it to Bluemoon and a few other websites. It's not getting to the masses. I know loads of blues that haven't even heard about it. I'm not trying to tell you and the others how to run your campaign, but you need to up the anti and you need to mobilise a group big enough to fill most of a block. Having 30 odd for each match isn't going to make City take notice, even if your talking to them on a regular basis.

TBH, the club could help you out alot more then they do. They have speakers, 2 scoreboards and a match magazine. There is no reason why they can't advertise your group, give block and ticket details for up and coming matches.

To be fair to the club they do alot of talking to various groups, but they don't actually help as far as I can see.

I sat in the NS once. I found the pin and put it back in my pocket. Never again, like yourself.

Nothing worse when watching MOTD seeing the away fans with large areas of blue seating around them. Why not re-locate the TV cameras onto the East Stand and tuck the away fans in 110/111, out of sight to the cameras, and bringing both singing sections together in the South Stand?

Shouldn't be too hard to re-jig the entry/exit procedures for the away fans. When a bigger allocation of away fans is required, then allocate block by block around the South Stand. I can think of spuds and the arse, to name 2 grounds, where the away fans are out of sight.

Why the hell does it bother people whether the away fans can be seen on Match of the Bloody Day?

Who gives a flying one?

Hey! We're big on facebook! The main problem we've found is that too many people are stuck in there ways of drinking in Mary D's and sitting where they're used to and if they do sing, not to encourage new pro-City songs. If that's what people want to do, then fair enough - but I'm sure theres plenty of others who want to get behind the team in blue and make CoMs as a whole a better atmosphere.

Move the away fans to the 'Singing Section' and then join the 'Singing Section' to the South Stand. Surely they can get the away fans out from entrance K?

It may just be me but why one end ?

the Kippax was not and end and it stood us in good stead for 70 year plus we already have two complete sides and one end so why move anyone ?

Thats the problem in a nutshell Dave .. a lot of people want to sing but are too self-concious to have a go ....... go on,get stuck into a song and see if anyone around you joins in.

I cant see any reason to move everyone also. The reason you have two vocal areas rather than one is that the majority who like to be vocal want to be next to the away support. Can someone please tell me how moving the away fans will change this??

Good luck in your campaign.I mean it.

However, your last paragraph has bizarrely just alienated the two main blocks of fans who currently bother to make any noise!
Believe it or not-some of us in 110/111 can string a sentance together at the same time as standing up-but I suspect you already know this.
I simply don't get the point of having a go at people that already sing, when you're trying to set up a group to start singing!
And tell me-will all the "new" singers you recruit for 136 be suitably vetted by the "peer group" for level of poilitical/satirical comment in their songs?

I give up sometimes on here,I really do.
