The disadvantage City fans have is that wages here are lower and the most expensive ticket prices are for games in London where we have to pay travel costs as well.

It's quite noticeable, when you see the visiting support from Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal, that their supporter base is a lot wealthier than ours
I understand that mate but I know many that travel all over watching Arsenal and have spent everything they earn and more(a lot more) doing so.

I know you may baulk and laugh at my next comment In 2000 we played away to Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League(no club trip,no cheap flights and no direct flights) it was the last group game as we had already qualified), a reserve side put out ...38..yes thirty eight of us hardy souls braved the elements of Far Eastern Ukraine and a 0-3 defeat..two days later the draw and an away trip in November(2 weeks later) to Spartak Moscow...-17 and a 1-4 defeat 350 of us this time....

fathellensbellend I am sorry I don't know how to double quote? My first game at Maine Rd was I think a league cup match in 1985 and not missed one since, I hope you have another great trip apart from the obvious to London..it's in the blood so we'll see you next season!

stick around on here mate, beyond on all the bollox that exists on forums you have a lot to contribute. as for league cup games against arsenal, you ALWAYS bloody won them

Fair dooze to AFC,Holloway Harry and The Herd etc.. Despite their poor taste
in clothes and football (we forgive you) I understand your gloom. Thanks for sharing youf views with us Mancs (AKA only CITY) and keep up the pressure. For info, 1st to Highbury was v Loco Leipzig in 1978-ish. Probably drankwith an auntie/grannie. Only joking, muckers PS not rhyming slang ....!

Not too sure what he's getting at re the sugar daddy comment, the fact we have rich owners has not pushed the prices of attendance up at games for either city or other clubs, Arsenal have always been robbing c unts in regards to ticket prices.

I think if he did a bit of research he would discover that city have some of the cheapest match day pricing around, and thats before we talk about the £250 season ticket... lazy southern c unt

I will also add that comments about how much money we have are fucking boring....4 years on.

£53 in Manchester aint a lot less than £62 in London when the "london weighting" is added on, our ticket prices on a match by match basis have rocketed, but as I have said before, the days of a £13 ticket to the North Stand Maine Road for a league game will never sadly return.
ALL clubs charge far too much for tickets, and we are no exception.
And this everyone is the tadahhhh moment.
Will it gain momentum?Let's fuckin hope so................

We have charged around the fifty pounds mark for the big games but then also charged more than reasonable prices for other games ( around the thirty pounds mark) . I may be wrong but I can only assume arsenal charge above the fifty pounds mark for every home game no matter who they play? I think there lies the problem. Complete rip off of a club and its their own fans that are gettin hit the hardest . Ig I was an arsenal fan I wouldn't be as bothered if it was goin towards buyin world class players rather than cushioned seats.

Read in that Guardian piece that Stoke are paying £32.50, and other clubs only £25.

That actually pisses me off a bit more than if everyone was paying the same to be honest.

I remember going down to Highbury and the Emirates before the takeover, was always a pretty good atmosphere between gooners and blues (enemy of my enemy played a part I'm sure). Haven't been since and I'd hope it's still a pretty good relationship.

But we blues hear an awful lot of mistruths, vitriol, and criticism of the club over the press, TV, radio, internet etc and I think thats where a lot of the bad blood between the two sets of supporters comes from. That and a few comments from Arsene.

Good post mate EIE

This is how it is lads I am one of the many passionate old school Arsenal fans who will only go to the stadium if we put on a protest which having tried to get something going the word is " we don't have enough time to organise anything. We might be able to muster something up in the ground like TURNING OUR BACKS ON THE GAME ON 62 MINS. This would be good if all City fans did the same !!!!!!!
As one of my lot has already said on here we have lots going on behind the scenes at Arsenal and believe me there are thousands of us who do not go to the bowl but go away and are as passionate if not more so than the ones that go to the home games.
The BSM are good and just needs to build up a bit more momentum to put pressure on our decrepid board but believe me we as fans are not just sitting back and allowing the prawn sandwich brigade to take over WE WANT OUR ARSENAL BACK

Alright chaps. I expect you are getting quite a few of us looking oh here today. I thought I'd put my 2 pennies in. In regards to the poster asking why we are not making a stand, there is a group that was formed last year called the black scarf movement (named as black was the only colour Nike haven't used as a kit colour) and we had over 2000 people demonstrating before the Swansea game in December. It was all over the press, Sky sports etc even a German TV crew that got wind of us when Schalke beat us in the CL where there and the prices of tickets was one of the issues being raised. The core Arsenal support do stay away, all the pubs around Holloway road, Finsbury Park are rammed with Arsenal that simply refuse to pay these extortionate prices (especially seeing as our dear Stan from the US is hell bent on stripping us of our assets). It's a disgrace and in regards to paying high prices away, you should see what he had to pay at Chelsea and even QPR last year. I even paid well over £50 to see you lot earlier this season. These people are living in the clouds and its us mugs that have to take the brunt of it.

There are also other supporter clubs such AISA who have lobbeyed the board for close to 2 years to reduce ticket prices. These people just wont listen however. I applaud your stand to send back these tickets, it's a fucking disgrace.

As for the "Unfortunately a lot of their supporters seem to have lapped it up." You don't know many of us do you chap? If you think that we pray to the altar of this board, that Arsene and his constant whining about other clubs and how unfair it is that they have more money then we do (even though we spend so much on wages for players who we cant even sell on and who no longer play such as your Denilson's and Djourou's etc) is a mantra we all follow then you are as deluded as he is.

There is a massive divide between fans which are the ever diminishing Arsene Knows Brigade (lovingly referred to as the AKB's) and the other half who are sick to the back teeth of the constant lies that are spoon fed to us by the king of spin himself, Ivan Gazidis (a Man City fan by the way). There are people who only jumped on the bandwagon at Arsenal when football became really popular and Arsene FC was created. There are some who genuinely think that the club didn't exist before their deity arrived in '96. Anything that comes out of the mouths of their dear leader and board is the truth and all the talk about the evils of city (used to be Chelsea) is the only reason why we are now footballing also rans.

There are many, many of us who will support the team through thick and thin but will no longer put a penny into this club whilst the current regime exists.

It's got nothing to do with having an entitlement to win trophies, it's the constant lies and bullshit, the constant pining for this fantasy which is Financial Fair Play. It's a fucking joke. Unfortunately for us it wont be ending any time soon. Still for a shitty club with such horrible supporters like us I imagine you lot wont care which is fair enough as we didn't care when you were doing nowt.
Great post. Arsenal used to have a brilliant fanbase in the days of the North Bank. It was a great away trip and City fans who went there were welcomed which was never the case at Spurs. There are thousands of Arsenal fans who have been priced out of watching their club and in some cases they have even been priced out of the area which is much gentrified now compared to 30 years ago. Some of Arsenal's new fans are obnoxious and behave like rags but you can't stereotype them all like that. The key thing for us is that we must, at all costs, try to retain our roots. So far our owners have shown an understanding of City's traditional community fanbase-the total opposite of Arsenal's owners. Fans of all colours must stick together on ticket prices. If we don't we will all be shafted.

Am i right in thinking that this is the 1st season you have had to pay that kind of price at our stadium and if so its about time, for yrs now we have been paying a ridiculous amount to watch our team at all london grounds and the swamp,so its about time our club started charging the away fans in line with what we have had to pay for yrs

You wouldn't be right no. I paid £57 the season before at yours. We put away fans in the cheapest seats at the Holloway bowl. We are trying to get them to send the away lot out of view onto the more expensive seats but so far the board are not listening.

57 quid in the south stand at our place. BOLLOCKS

You are right chief, it was Loftus Road I paid that last season. Yours was £48. Which is still a lot. So I guess as you have used Block capitals I better apologise.
