Opposition view: Everton

just some pionts and that.

1) to the fella who was trying include the Simod. LDV, Carling, Worthington and other cups. We like to think that a success of a club is due to how many times you are the best team in the league. Champions. Most people think that too like. that's why we're fourth in the standings.

2) City - You're a totally different team this year than last. Much more attractive, attacking, aggressive etc. In fact you look the complete unit - with options in every position. good to watch too.

3) Everton - we've gone slightly backwards and although won 4 out the last 5 games, the only game we played well in was the game we didnt win and drew against villla. In short - we're shyte

4) looks like you're due a win...and probably give us a hiding

5) Maybe :-) Or maybe not

6) Are you all still wearing denim?

Keep smiling lids.

To be fair not all fans are guilty of it, but i have to say the amount of things that I've read on here abusing Everton is ridiculous. I fully expect City fans to spend most of their game singing sign on songs and various other things an dyet we get called bitter. The amount of bitter comments I've read or heard from City fans far surpasses even what we get from the red lot.
As I said earlier, you can't take a joke if you think singing "sign on" to scousers and "Everton, Everton, rah rah rah" isn't funny as fuck.

You don't have to be a smack addict to see the hilarious irony in Bolton's "town full of smackheads" chant, not least coming from a town with one of the highest teenage pregnancy rates in Europe.

I have to say though, them singing "town full of looters" after coming down in droves by train to loot our beloved city centre was a bit of a kick in the teeth.

If anything its the other way round, the way Everton have celebrated at our stadium in recent years, you'd think they'd won the League. City fans on here have built up an opinion of the cockwombles from Everton that come on here and spout the shit, i've never seen one speak down about Everton without being provoked.
utd fans just shrug and give a sly dig after a derby (same whether they win lose or draw). I get a LOT of shit from Everton fans after their annual cup final wins at CoMS but whenever we draw or win they go on about how they were robbed and didn't deserve to lose.

I think it's a scouse/Manc thing at its heart.

-- Fri Sep 23, 2011 8:41 am --

We like to measure success based on Thomas Cook Trophies. That's why we're the best team in the land and all the world.

I can understand both sides of this dislike that's built up between both clubs

We have won the lottery and everton haven,t got two pennies to rub together

We are buying players at £20million plus, everton haven,t bought a player for a couple of years (what was that website called?)

Everton have had the Indian sign over us for a number of years

There,s the lescott saga and a lot of comments off moyles in the papers (we more than any group of fans should know how much shite and downright lies are written in the daily rags)

The game at everton during the winter after the lescott transfer will be remembered for the hostile atmosphere and the behaviour of the everton stewards and the merseyside police

The game at east lands the season before had trouble between 111 and the away fans

Bearing. Mall of this in mind it,s no wonder there,s an element of hostility between some of the fans

However, last seasons game at everton was one of the best aways I,ve had for a while, drinking in Liverpool before the game, talking to plenty of everton fans before and after the game, back to liverpool centre on the piss until the last train back to Victoria, pissed!

What I,ve realised is both sets of fans are very similar, same sense of humour (black and self degrading), similar backgrounds (hard working class), had to put up with red neighbours who have been ultra successful where we have not (although everton have had more success than us in the 80s and 90s) and yet have both supported our clubs in vast numbers which most if not all other clubs would never be able to do

For my part I hope everton don find that rich benefactor and it,s us and them who are battling it out for all the trophies and english football is turned a nice shade of blue rather than that shit red colour which has been the norm for to many years

Everton and Tottenham fans are as bad as each other, they blame City for there misgivings, theyve had decades of unbroken premier league football, and apart from a couple of cup wins between them have won or done fuck all,we wasnt as threat to them them not winning anything so why is it any different now?

We finished third last year,so what stopped these self proclaimed "big" clubs from finishing fourth and attaining CL football?

Its nothing more than jealousy dressed up to read we are a bigger club than you because weve won 7 or 8 more trophies over the course of 120+ years of existence and it should be us in your place blaa blaa fucking blaaa.

Tottenham havent won the league for over 50 years, everton for close on 30.

Its happened to us because we are in the right place at the right time but dont class us as some small insignificant club unworthy of whats happening to us because the facts are we are all as equally big clubs give or take different scenarios.

Someone needs to tell PeteO that everton are the 7th most successful english club not the 4th.

the order is

Liverpool 40 major trophies
manure 38
Arse 27
Villa 20
spuds 17
chelski 16
toffees 15
barcodes 11
Gods own 10
Blackburn 10

Always like and admired football clubs like Everton. A very similar football club to our own until recently. Money seems to have taken an awful lot of respect out of the game for a lot of people. Football clubs like Everton are in serious trouble financially at the moment and i think the Prem league will be a poorer place without them if their financial problems mean they lose their Prem status, or even go out of business. Man City could easily have been in exactly the same position and i think it's time some of you remember that. Short memories or not old enough.

That said, i know they have a incredible record against us, but this season we are different and have far more options going forward. They are pretty woeful going forward and i don't see them being much of a threat tmrw.

I'm going for a 3-0 or 3-1 home win !

Its got nothing to do with short memories fella, what gets up mine and other fans noses is they are trying to justify it happening to them as being ok because in there eyes they deem themselves more worthy of us to be invested in.The truth of the matter is they have both spent above there means to stay in this league and done nothing of note for spending it.

City fans havent thrown any of this in other clubs fans faces it is they who have turned on us.

What some opposition fans, chairmen, directors (and a select few journalists who are fans of other clubs) don't like is they and their clubs were weighed in the balance and found wanting despite their successes and progress in all competitions when compared to City's over the same time-frame.

There were a number of reasons why his highness settled on City and none other: a significant contributory factor was the fans as fans.

A comparative analysis of the larger and mid-sized clubs was undertaken, looking at years post 1945. Decade-on-decade failure was aggregated and judged minor if a club merely did not win a major honour but finished competitions as quarter-finalists or better, or top six in the league, more often than not. Failure was judged major if the ends were less than this. Failure was judged destabilizing if cup competitions invariably terminated in the first rounds and relegation was a recurring fact or threat.

Note was taken of the ebbs and flows of attendance across all clubs under review.

In City's case, proximity to "Manchester" United was discussed.

The result was a considered judgment that, given all the facts and circumstances, no other club has (past), and few could expect (future), to maintain a level or intensity of support comparable with Manchester City given her pattern of chronic and acute destabilizing failure. Such was the nature of the underlying weakness caused by decades of failure and maladministration, that had his highness not bought the club, MCFC would have entered administration.

I doubt whether the fans of Aston Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur etc are still in the mood to patronize Manchester City fans as good losers, laughing stocks, only winning cups for cock-ups. It ought to be evident to them that whilst City fans were groaning under the weight of failure, those same City fans by their constancy, were actually helping to save their club even though at the time they did not know it.

As for the fans of the clubs above mentioned, what price your mockery now? Have your jibes turned to ashes in your throats yet?

Bitter, proud, arrogant hypocrites who writhe in agony to see another enjoy good fortune.
