Opposition view: Liverpool

How much have they spent over the years?
Over the life of the Premiership, their gross spend is over £550m, which is only behind us (£655m) and Chelsea (£729m). When you take Transfer Price Inflation into account they've probably spent more than us in real terms.

And they've bought how many Premiership titles exactly?

yawn, yet more ex top 4,in debt clubs trying to tell us that we`re buying the title and it`s hard to see past the money..

and how did they get into debt then??

not charging enough for a bovril and a pie?

these fans have short memories,so in the last ten years they havn`t bought any players what so ever?

and stevie gerard isn`t on £100 grand a week is he not??

go on,shoo,you`re boring me...

that david comes across as a right dick. passionate kop, won't mention about us not quailifying for the nextgen, buying the league, everyone wanting us to lose tuesday. Knob head

It's laughable. They are the second biggest gross spenders after us over the last 5 years and have spent even more than Chelsea. They are a bunch of self-deluding hypocrites.

Indeed, 35 million on drink alot ring a bell?

i have one question to ask the liverpool fans who are miffed about our investment, why the fuck did you spend 2 years or so trying to oust gillet and hicks, if you are not bothered about investment, then why so hell bent on getting new owners

LIVERPOOL???
Moaning about our spending?
Its laughable that they can level any criticism at us, and definitely very, very tiresome. Here's a brief reality check for our scouse friends:-
Liverpool is the club which had the Littlewoods money for years and years. Then when they needed more, they sold out to the yanks. Loads of money spent; won a trophy or 2, but misguided management resulted in them failing to consolodate what was 2nd place in the league. Sold to another load of yanks. Spent a wedge, but not so much when you think of the £50m they got for Torres, and, apart from Suarez - who is better than average, but cost £27.7m - that's what the rest of them are at best - average.
How much did they spend on Jordan Henderson? £20m? Andy Carroll £35m; Stuart Downing? £20m apparently. (Scorer of a goal a season if you're lucky) Would any top 4 club have signed Charlie Adam? Jose Enrique? What about Sebastian Coates - 'Who's he?' you may well ask? Check him out - they paid millions for him - Uruguyan; 6ft 6", and he's played once - so he must be worse than Skrtel and Agger! The fee for Coates is a secret. Anyway, Suarez apart, thank god we didn't sign any of them
So far its been spend spend spend and they've got nowhere. Well over £125m this year alone, and they aren't likely to progress any time soon. For me, they are still a place or 2 behind champs league qualification and ripe for a good thumping from us on Sunday.
Next year, without a trophy or Champs league, Reina won't be there I bet; Carragher will be totally past it, and Gerard will be on his way further downhill, that is if injuries haven't damaged his career terminally already. They'll need to spend a fortune to replace them 3 if my thinking is correct, so they will struggle to standstill. Their defence and midfield are very suspect imho as it is.
They have King Kenny back but I can't see him lasting more than a couple of years - can you? He looks constantly drained - bless -and he's burnt out a couple of times before already.
Whereas - we have accumulated a fantastic squad, are at the top, but still on the up, with endless power to add!
God, I love being a City fan! Smug? Me? No way - just terminally happy, and laughing every time the 'money' tag is thrown at us. Laughing especially at Liverpool who really should be where we are if they had been able to kick on after Benitez's 1st season.
We're due a win at Anfield I believe........

Must admit I was a little shocked(shouldn't be really) at most football fans cheering after the Napoli result comment.
I suppose it's the hatred of us Now. I normally love that sort of comment as it shows other fans fear of us now.

LittlewoodsPools FC.

Every trophy they ever won, they bought with money from their sugar daddy.

And as for their famous history..........

City were formed five years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first FA Cup 61 years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first League Cup 11 years before LittlewoodsPools FC
City won their first European trophy 3 years before LittlewoodsPools FC
