ordinary working fans being priced out

I know Im moaning ;) but this is a serious issue, the premiership is being catered for armchair fans and not the people that regulalry attend matches with a lot of fans are being priced out.

1) TICKET PRICES- the amount of money people are being asked to pay is just ridiculous for a season ticket, away ticket, general ticket. I think arsenal charge above 1000 pound for season tickets which is terrible and reflects the wider price fans all over the country are being asked to pay ( high prices). For the villa game their charging 43 pound for adults 43 POUNDS !!!!!!!!!!! what has the world come to, surely if teams want full grounds, good atmospheres they should be charging reasonable prices 20 to 30 pounds for adults, i know clubs have to maximise profits and this will help that cause, however they could just use some common sense and charge decent affordable prices. Perhaps by looking at the german model full stadiums all the time.

2) TV- What really annoys me is televisons companies ability to change when fixtures can be played at the drop of a hat- for example the everton away game being moved- no consideration for fans who have taken time off work and could only attend then, no care for fans who planned their whole day around that day being only able to attend then, only thinking about people who can watch it at home and not the actual match goers. without the fans football would be nothing.

I could name countless other aspects: dear stadium costs, over the top police and security, crack downs on standing up and swearing ( the political correctness of games) in my opinion something needs to be done as it's only getting worse even in an economic recession

The beginning of the end?! I think you're around 20 years too late with this thread.

Have you ever managed to post something that isn't a moan about
The fans
The atmosphere
The prices
The lights out
The quality of the football

And all this from someone who goes when someone sells him a cheap ticket

Re: the beginning of the end for the ordinary working fan

It's a strange buisiness football, all over the country in the lower leagues I see half empty stadiums, but I don't see discounting on prices?

It's not really a problem for City at the moment because every Prem game is now sold out, remember cup games are just a bonus. Also most prem teams do mange to fill their stadiums so people are willing to pay the price

Re: the beginning of the end for the ordinary working fan

fine then the middle of the end

Re: the beginning of the end for the ordinary working fan

If we win the league this season, and it is a BIG IF, as anything could happen; however it then couldn't get much better could it?

This could mean a large scale changing of the guard in terms of supporters if prices continue to rise at such an unsustainable rate.

This is all match prices home and away.
