They had ten years to plan for this event, and they seem to have done it right. They will have taken pictures of his body, taken DNA and dental records and stuff and confirmed his ID. This evidence will come out eventually. Bear in mind the troops involved will still be being debriefed.

The US wouldn't have announced this unless they were 100% sure it was him. If it wasn't him, they run the risk of him emerging in a day or so saying "I'm not dead"

By getting rid of his body, you eliminate the chance of a martyrs grave. It's gone, you can't dig him up.

I'm still amazed that he was living in a multi million dollar compound, surrounded by huge walls and tight security less than a mile from the elite military academy in Pakistan! We all thought he was in a cave, but turns out he was living in luxury!

Nice to see Americans doing there best to clear everything up by giving the person with the most recognizable face in the world a sea burial........as you do to international terrorist and Muslims generally....................that bunch of bud drinking, gun popping, crap football watching, burger eating inbreeds will NEVER learn...............If you want to put things to bed give us clarity, if you don't want to be attacked then don't make martyrs. I wrote to the American administration some years ago requesting that in the event of this happening Bin Laden's body be embalmed (at my expense) and crated over to Accrington to form the centre piece of a Global Evil theme bar that I was planning to open. I got no reply and sadly had to sell on the death mask of Pol Pot, Stalin's fingernails and the remains of a lasagne that had been authenticated as being regurgitated by Mussolini. I also took a huge loss on the 'Mao Mixers' and 'Hitler Hamburgers' I'd had specially made. Luckily I was able to sell on the 'Attila Ale' to Rawtenstall Conservative Club for a small profit.

I think there will always be conspiracies but I do think he's dead.

Al-Qaeda would come out and say it wasn't him if he wasn't.

But in all honest it doesn't make a lot of difference in my opinion because there isn't a real head to the group, he was just one of a group of individuals who come up with plots to kill people in the west.

The USA and Britain constantly tracks and surveys people here with links to Pakistan and follows them over there and/or uses Pakistani officials to do the same there.

They've assassinated quite a number of people they linked to terror in Pakistan, using missiles, drones etc., and Bin Laden was just one of them.

He would have had a lot of support for 9/11 and there would have been many more people working on the plot, not all of them will be dead, nor the people he's met in the last 10 years, coached and trained who will now be off in the wilderness either doing the same or plotting with people in the west to cause more terrorist attacks.

There is a problem with the Pakistani authorities as they can't be trusted to keep hold of captured prisoners as they are as 2 faced as they come.

I don't think this is over, not by a long shot.

I don't think this is over, not by a long shot.

No chance. It's more of a moral victory and closure for the families of the 9/11 victims and probably the 7/7 ones too.

He hadn't released a video in years, so it wasn't like he was the evil henchman in charge of an evil empire. He merely created a way of thinking, a culture and idea that too many people have taken up now for it to be stopped by the death of one man.
