Osama Bin Laden is dead.

I should be happy. The man considered to be the most evil and awful person ever crapped into existance is dead. But does anyone seriously think that al Qaeda are just going to see this as 'one of those things'? No, no way. Be careful wherever you go, because I think we're going to enter an age of paranoia so large and so strong that people aren't even going to trust their family members.

I'm seriously, seriously worried about this.

I hate Linkin Park, but their lyric "when the rich war, it's the poor who die" couldn't be more appropriate.

I doubt my dad will blow me up.

If you want to live your life like that, then you'll look back and regret. Do you think if Ferguson left tomorrow utd would be stronger for it? No. (trivual analogy i know) But you take the spearhead from an organisation and its force and direction is diminished.

I think America put too much focus and emphasis on Bin Laden (people dancing in the streets shows how they just don't get it) but it must be a god thing for us all that he's now dead, as long as our secret services and information gathers are able to protect us sufficiently as they no doubt attempt to retaliate.

They had ten years to plan for this event, and they seem to have done it right. They will have taken pictures of his body, taken DNA and dental records and stuff and confirmed his ID. This evidence will come out eventually. Bear in mind the troops involved will still be being debriefed.

The US wouldn't have announced this unless they were 100% sure it was him. If it wasn't him, they run the risk of him emerging in a day or so saying "I'm not dead"

By getting rid of his body, you eliminate the chance of a martyrs grave. It's gone, you can't dig him up.

I'm still amazed that he was living in a multi million dollar compound, surrounded by huge walls and tight security less than a mile from the elite military academy in Pakistan! We all thought he was in a cave, but turns out he was living in luxury!

this exactly scall, the israelis did it with adolf eichmann when they executed him in the 60's so he had no final resting place that could be made in to a place of pilgrimage for his sympathisers.

i do find it strange though that they have said they have killed him now when they said he was supposed to of died from kidney complications 5/6 years ago.

To be honest Gstar in more worried about the tossers living in the UK who think they are part of al-qaeda and will use it to gain more support. I think the problem now is how widespread those extremist views have come. Couple that with the rise of the BNP over the last few years and racial tensions growing in towns like Blackburn and Burnley and I'd say we've got a shit storm on the way!
Why can't people just be fucking normal?

hmm found on a Pakistani Army garrison, 200m from their academy and apparently the Pakistani government knew nothing of thi?! Absolute bollocks, maybe next time they have tragic floods they can go fuck themselve when they request foreign aid from us. This makes a mockery of Cameron's mission to tighten relations between Britain and Pakistan when they go and shelter Bin Laden from us!
