Was this really worth the trillion of dollars and nearly a million of service men being killed? For one man? Really? Its very naive to expect anything is going to change. Big complex, organisations like Al-Qaeda don't leave it to one man in charge, who hides in a cave all the time, and is rarely seen or heard.
A million service men killed have I missed something?
Al-Quada is not an organisation, it was (is) a grouping of various different Salfi (Jihadist) groups, who had Bin Laden as it's symbolic head, he was like the spiritual head for want of a better word, it will be a huge blow to them, but most people know that this is not the end, the end will come not through military means but by political means, Al Quada could only exist because the conditions were right for it, mainly the lack of direct democracy in the Arab world, things are beginning to change but there is still a long way to go, the Americans really need to pressure Israel to withdraw back to the pre 67 borders, and a solution to the Jerusalem issue
