Rico is a sensible, savvy lad and will probably understand the score.

He'll start 20 games out of 65, play a part in another 20 & win trophies and medals.

It's not unambitious to be realistic about your levels and to always be the best version of yourself, which is where Rico is now.

The criticism he gets on here is disgusting & shameful.

I hope he remains at City & becomes recognised and appreciated as a valuable, dependable and effective member of the squad, because every squad needs a Rico Lewis.

Finally, most of his games for City have been out of position at RB, (he'd play in goals if asked),His natural position is no.4 !!

As said before, when the odd lot were winning titles they had the likes of Brown, O’Shea, Butt, Fletcher etc backing up the big money first choices when necessary. All still played loads of games and ended their careers with a cupboard full of medals
Rico’s a perfect squad member. Versatile, rarely injured, a great professional attitude and a homegrown blue. And still only 21

If only there was a Lewis thread to put over this opinion.

Well said.

Just remember alot of people have 2 settings , shit, or almost shit.

Letting him go is probably the best thing right now, he needs regular games to establish himself, loan would be better as even if he doesnt prove good enough for us, his value will shoot up with regular minutes.

Just get the deal right on this, transfer has got to be starting at £30m and we need a big sell on fee with that. we also need a clause that says that sell on percentage doubles if they sell to a direct rival of ours, got to start protecting against seeing our academy lads turning out for dippers/arsenal/united/chelsea. I could see any or all of those clubs sniffing around him in 18 months if he is sold and he does well.

Makes a lot of sense to move him on. Has talent but not sure we will miss him. He hasnt had many chances but those he has had he hasnt maximised like say Nico OR has done so unlikely to get many more. Its tough on him as he has something but no room for sentiment.
