OK so MUEN have him getting into the ubiquitous Merc Vito Van at The Lowry

Is that a €20m foot...?

Sorry but how is forgoing a £20m debt and paying a 8m the same as "getting him for 8m"

THat 20m is money we were going to get, and now aren't. You can't just wipe it out.

He's costing 28m, it's a good price. Not sure why everyone is trying to massage the figure and act like he is being picked up for pennies.

THANK YOU! People's insistence on trying to making this look a far better deal than it is (and as you say, it's a fair enough deal anyway) is very confusing. We'll be £28m down on what we would be if we weren't getting him. Therefore the cost to us is £28m. TBH, I've lost count of how many times we're supposed to have booked this Negredo money already. Some would have you believe that Negredo has covered the cost of Bony, Otamendi and also been accounted in two different seasons as a contribution towards FFP.

It's just another way of looking at things. Otamendi will basically cost us Negredo + a few million.

Where have I "wiped out" the Negredo money?

Valencia still owe us money for Negredo, though, so the fee will basically be Negredo and, as Ray pointed out, a few million.

That Negredo fee has already been accounted for. It can't just disappear because valencia haven't actually paid it yet and will be knocking off what we pay them. Lets not turn into the rags and claim the deal is whatever money we pay over the fee we got for Negredo. We're not getting a bargain here, we will be paying top whack for what will hopefully turn out to be a top player.

Mangala is not going anywhere. It's been confirmed on pretty much every level from the ITK's to decent journalists, and now even the likes of Sky have said City ruled it out.
I think so too pal and hope you're right, but was just going off City Watch's latest tweet that Mendes and Valencia were trying to persuade EM to leave
