C. Bosch y A. Alberola

A great mess with the departure of Otamendi and the arrival of Mangala. And a big one. When everything seemed done because executives Valencia and Manchester City had an agreement to transfer the Argentine defense by 40 million euros over the assignment of French Mangala and Portuguese Marcos Lopes for a while, the operation was about to break over Monday. In fact, although Valencia ensured through official channels was not broken, the fact is that throughout the evening was very difficult if not impossible. "I do not know how it will solve this," the newspaper claimed to sources familiar with the operation. The situation was bizarre because Mangala refused to leave the City, but then appeared Mendes and handled the mess. City player Otamendi will be Tuesday. The terms, though, have changed from the beginning: the British club has upped the offer, although it does not reach 50 million euros. It will no variables and no players in exchange.

Valencia will go to the market to find a substitute of the Argentine. Mangala's firm stance had blocked the handover, with Nico in Manchester City--in offices and virtually sold but not a substitute to be able to register to contest the preview of the Champions League against AS Monaco. It almost broke up. It all started on Sunday night when he finished the game between City and Chelsea in the Premiership. Mangala materialized its better appearance since joining the club a year ago British against a team of first class as is the set of Mourinho. A comfortable victory and the role of the French was achieved after a first day which has already demonstrated that it is at a good level, was providential. Eliakim cleared at a stroke all the doubts that accumulated in his first season in England and after the meeting incontrables received tokens of affection from his fans, who clamored for him to stay in the workforce and not to go on loan to Valencia.

The responsibles of the sports area of City have seen in the new Mangala to center that saw the ranks of Porto when they decided to make a very strong economic investment exceeded 40 million euros last summer and decided to change the conditions of the transfer of Otamendi. They do not want to transfer it to Valencia. Pellegrini wanted to align against Chelsea and the operation was delayed a few hours, although the initial plan was that the operation was shut between Sunday and Monday and Mangala travel to Valencia. However, the good performance of the French caused all the foundations of the wobble operation. Are the dangers of letting the other club can count on your player, especially when Valencia had given permission to Otamendi not train normally and head for Manchester to close his move.

Nico has passed medical check
Layhoon (Valencia board) landed yesterday in Valencia to finish the job but the situation was really stuck. Throughout the day, the positions reached in the tense negiociation executives Mestalla and shod a position of strength for the City and Otamendi not got their way: Valencia demanded payment of fifty million clause if Mangala not reach. The Argentine landed about four in the evening with your agent and Mendes and went directly from the airport to the facilities of the British club, which passed the medical examination with satisfactory results. Tuesday, will be made official.

I know it makes a great story, Mangala pulling out a masterful performance to secure his future and shut up the doubters... But I just don't believe it. If he was really in the middle of a transfer saga and fighting with the club not to go on loan, there's no way we would have played him.

And as good as his performance was, I don't think one game would change Pellegrini's mind. Much more likely he secured his place here when he and Demichelis were rock solid for the last 6 games of 14/15 or his good performances in preseason.

Good story, I don't believe it though.

One report saying he has gone back to Spain and the other saying he's signing today , same as every transfer no one has a Scooby

Correct. The bloke who said Otamendi has gone back could be just another Brennan.

Doesn't make his point any less accurate, some of the responses have been fucking embarrassing. Ok, so saying he could wear the 23 shirt was clearly an error, and demonstrated that the poster didn't have a great deal of depth to their City knowledge, but there were far better ways of dealing with that than those chosen by many.

Yeah, I agree on that one to be honest. Whilst he was clearly riled up by some of the disappointing replies he's response to that wasn't great and only served to cause further antagonism.
The initial mistake is either here nor there to be quite honest we have to remember that however horrible the MVF tragedy was it happened in 2003 now wether we like it or not since 2003 we've gained a lot of new support such is the nature of the beast when a club becomes "successful" and although we'd love to think that every new city fan sits at home watching Stuart pearce's guide to scoring goals at home 06/07 whilst Spunking at the sight of their Andy Morrison poster that doesn't happen. Many Fans won't remember York Away or Dickovs Goal or The Ewood Park Pitch invasion or Running out of Chips at Half time at Newcastle, or the signing of Robinho Hell some people won't have experienced the pleasure of the Kaka thread or Isco Thread these are things that as a fan base we have to get used to and try our best to educate the new guys on where we've come from because contrary to what the media would have you believe we do have a history an esteemed one at that and it makes us what we are. Now in no way am I comparing any of the things mentioned to MVF but you know what I mean.

Valencia play a CL qualifier tomorrow night. Be interesting to see if Otamendi is selected as if he is that'll end any speculation about a transfer to us this summer.

He has been removed from the squad and there's no turning back as far as him being a Valencia player again. He has to find a move. Valencia had their XI for CL play against their B team to prepare.

@Ric any news from your end, mate? Is it off or on?

Looking good but there y go, just in case there's a slight hitch.

Haven't the rules been changed regarding qualifying rounds? Still play in them get transferred and still be eligible to play in the group stage. Sure i heard or read this somewhere

Yes. If players play in qualifying rounds it doesn't make them ineligible anymore.
