Agree. Especially if we made promises to him that no new defenders are coming in. Can't blame his agent for being furious

in football NEVER make promises!!!! this is just a good opportunity to miss tbh....i don't know what that agent think about it even if stayed with vinny mangala mdm and denayer, denayer would not play too much

We are building one helluva team. Impregnable at the back and mesmerising for opponents up front.

In fact I would say now that this will be a team which will put the fear of God into every Champions league team. Be warned Barca and company. City are coming and we are going to bash down the front door.
The only thing I'd say is we need to be looking at a long term replacement for Yaya, which is why Pogba would have been a perfect signing. Once that's in place we're good to go.

So as I see it now, 4 high quality centre halves. Eldest bring Kompany at 29, not 30 till late next Spring, Otamendi at 27 not 28 till Febuary. Mangala 24. Denaya 20. That's a hell of a centre back pool. Even if we keep Demichellis I see him as the 5th centre mid. A last 20 minutes type of guy. Taking a role similar to Lampard only defensive.

Denayer or his agent has a right to be concerned, but he's still very very young. Chelsea have players of similar ability and development out on loan. Kalas & the Danish lad.

Verane isn't a regular starter at Madrid. Mangala is still seen as raw at 24. Denayer will have to accept that he is a couple of years at least away from top level PL & CL football.

If I were his advisors I'd recommend he stays and learns the City way this season, hopefully getting 20 appearances in all comps. Then look for a decent loan next season, Everton, Southampton level. Then fight for his place as a fully developed 22/23 year old.

Dzeko, Milner, Lampard, Boyata, Jovetic out of the first tam 25. Sterling, Otamendi, Delph, Denayer, Nacho and hopefully De Bruyne in.

These signings, this squad will be a very frightening thought for the Prem.

We have added size, power and speed to our very technically gifted squad.

If that's the case why didn't we buy him from Porto in the first place rather than Mangala? Think he cost about 1/4 of what Mangala did

Otamendi was older, and had played badly for 6 months after falling out with the manager after AVB left and he wanted to leave the club for a big move.

Also Otamendi left 6 months before we bought Mangala.

Denayer has to go to a quality premier League club on loan, and be back when demi leaves

We still aren't addressing our big CM problem that top teams all exploited last year. And indeed some lesser ones. Maybe we will.

Sterling much better than Milner agreed. Brings a whole new lease of life to the team.
Otamendi is better than Mangala of last year, so not sure if he is needed.

KdB? If he comes he will improve the team. But where is he going to play?

All summer long just sucking on a bitter lemon and needlessly sounding like a big fanny.

Right lets simply close a 200 million pound facility

Young players will make it at City if they're good enough

I always used to believe this but we do have to give them some opportunities. Both Denayer and Ineanacho are terrific talents and I would be disappointed if they weren't given game time in the odd prem and majority of league cup matches. While the previous poster was obviously wuming or overreacting, I can see why people are concerned for Denayer's progress given we are signing Otamedni and not shipping out Demi or Mangala.

To be honest i kinda agree with him, Denayer is good enough!! why would city offer him a 5 year deal ? i think MP just lacks the balls to take a risk and play some of the youth.

We will still buy players of course we will

There's no rush with the young players - as tolmie said before players like denayer could go elsewhere and get valuable experience
