Add to that the Silva/Sterling partnership, which I think has hit the ground running, it makes this the deal of the summer, Pogba and/or De Bruyne would be great additions of course, and the left back problem needs sorting (still), but I think this is the best signing, if it goes through.

Still think the best CL teams will run over us with midfield 2 chosen from Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando and Delph. They will still be put to the sword by a decent midfield 3. We need another top shelf central playmaker that can also put in a defensive shift. After this window our attack and defense are in good shape though.
 
If we manage to pull off both the Otamendi and the KDB deals, hats off to Txixi, he would have done some brilliant business this summer.

Although I did state on many of occasions that we needed another CM, after watching the game on Sunday against Chelsea, I thought we completely tore them apart through the middle. Yaya looks back to his best and so does Fernandinho, very very impressed with both of them. My only worry was the lack of form from Yaya Toure and Fernandinho going into this season, but so far we look so combative, energetic, strong and explosive through the middle and even out wide, practically all over the pitch. We tweak the side with a bruiser in Otamendi who is a defender who likes to close down immediately and be on the front foot and a player in De Bruyne who can score, assist, beat players, whip balls in for fun on a sixpence and just practically open teams up like a tin of beans whether it's down the line or through the middle... I really do think we have a brilliant chance of the title this season. We will have one hell of a squad, best squad we would have had since Sheikh Mansour has been in charge. That's ONLY if both players are signed though, fingers crossed but I really do believe KDB is also imminent.

We do however need a CM, but that would be mainly for the champs league when it is needed against the very best. There is no rush, if it means waiting next season for a top quality CM, then so be it.

Just think... Kompany, Otamendi, Mangala and Denayer/ Demichelis... That is pretty scary. Strength in depth! With the way Mangala is playing, Otamendi will have to hit the ground running to even get game time!

Just speculation really. Haven't heard about any possible destinations for Denayer, but know Demichelis isn't looking to leave this summer. Obviously it might not be his choice in the end, but it makes more sense to allow Denayer to leave on loan.

Perfect replacement for Stones for a season. Suits all.
 
Most reports saying this deal will cost £32 million but i thought they owed us £23 million for the beast so we wouldn't be paying full price.
