Other fans perceptions of us

The kids tend to like us. I know it sounds a bit like a mickey take but we're very good on FIFA, PES, and Football Manager. Those video games have made City extraordinarily popular with the young'uns. Remember they don't care about football politics.

Similarly, non-Europeans (excluding the USA) won't have the hatred for us we tend to see.

The don't forget you've still got a lot of people that hate United and/or Liverpool to the point that they can see through the lies, and even if they don't like City, it's still United and/or Liverpool that get the hate.

This isn't me denying all the posts in this thread beforehand, but I thought I'd like to reassure some that the hate isn't universal.
I agree. We are glamour personified.

We gave United so much shit in the 90s and 00s about being Cockneys/Irish/ from Singapore, that they got a huge complex about it and became very insecure about it. They couldn’t understand that they were one of the best teams in Europe and we were no threat at all, yet we still took the piss out of them constantly.

They got so pissed off with it that they have swarmed social media (in these social media years) trying to get us back. It’s an obsession for them, even though they claim not to care about us.

It’s been over a decade of complete bollocks from the dirty red cunts… “Stockport” “council house” “Emptyhad” “no fans” “no history” “oil money” “dirty Arabs” “human rights”

Of course the media joined in with their Rag sycophancy.

Then we had a few title run-ins with the dirty red cunts from Merseyside and they started with the same shit it n’all. And it got even worse in the media.

Once the three biggest and saddest sets of cunts on this island group together to give City shit, we’ve got no chance of things changing.

Then all the no marks who are too thick to think for themselves from an array of clubs around the island start reading all this shit, they also join in with it. They’re too thick to understand that despite their sets of fans despising United and Liverpool, they are actually supporting them in their anti-City quest.

But we definitely started it… “sixty-thousand Cokneys” “you’re the pride of Singapore” “WELCOME TO MANCHESTER”… and the insecure little cherubs could never handle it.

It’s always a shame to see Blues not handling it these days. Should be water off a ducks back to us. We’re supposed to be cool a duck, Blue Order!
I love it. I don't want to be liked. I want to win.

Was in my local co-op yesterday with my City trakky top on and some dullard mid 40s rag quipped i had some shit on my top pointing to the badge. I just cold stared him and he fucked off sharpish.
Fuck the cold stare just level the red bastard

Do you really believe they were Leicester fans?
There are so many people like this, probably millions. They are what I call, "rag sheep". It's people who have a local team but hang onto the Rags as their "second team". So if their local team, in this case Leicester, start doing well then fine. But if not they always have their rag darlings.
The Rags are a monolith that I don't think we can ever compete with in terms of popularity. Not that it others me too much. There are many reasons but let me list a few;

I) Man Utd are virtually part of this nation's consciousness. One metric I use is to ask "who are the 3 footballers that someone who has no interest in football at all certainly in the UK but in many parts of the world could name". I'm talking about your gran or my Mum etc. George Best. Bobby Charlton and Beckham are the 3 who have transcended from footballers to cultural icons. Try it with someone who you know either hates football or knows nothing- everyone will have heard of at least 1 out of those 3.
Ii) of course the Rags and Liverpool are money making machines for the media, hence their sycophancy. And being anti City drives the money making agenda.
III) the Munich tragedy
iv) how Best glamourised footballers in the 60's - so young girls who fancied him but knew nowt about football would at least know Man Utd. Same with Beckham
v) the increasing populist culture in the UK and saddos trying to live vicariously.
So I think that may explain your unfortunate experience Mr Chapo
