Every team wishes they have what you have..simples.

I've always liked city...Sunderland and city were very similar for many years.. in the shadows, yoyo club etc...

I would be enjoying it if it was us.
I don't like city any less...in fact if anything..i like them more...I like the football club the same

There are always moments when it’s hard to skip a discussion or keep quiet if you hear (the indeed usual) tribe people get from reading papers.

But it’s silly to say it was better in the old days. It wasn’t. People were nice because we were shite and a joke club due to very poor management and our neighbours winning silverware.

People get influenced by the media if the media keeps printing rubbish articles, pundits keep making wrong and unproven remarks and the former G14 clubs creating more rules to keep us out of the top. And because of that refs treated us differently (maybe some not even on purpose) and players dive more easily with the ref on their side.

Not even mentioning Arab owners.

They, and Villa, failed FFP to get promoted. Had either of them not been promoted the seasons they came up, they would have started the next season with a points deduction. The next time either of them play in the Championship They will start that season with a points deduction.

Belfast international airport was packed with Blues the morning of the Portsmouth game under Keegan, though I suppose most of us would be in their 50's now.
City have had a decent support over here for years, and most would be match going fans (unlike the majority of the red idiots.

I reckon I’ve been unlucky in that regard. I cover the Republic and Northern Ireland for work. I always end up with a flight or ferry full of red shirts from one or the other (and in one awful case both). I remember a ferry crossing from Birkenhead to Belfast once following a Manchester United v Newcastle United fixture. There must’ve been hundreds of rag shirts on that ferry and in the corner, one lad n dad in the black and white stripes. Poor buggers lol.

On the train back from Wembley, a female Leicester fan sat next to some guy. He was Northern Irish, he started a conversation (or flirt) with her. Obviously had had a few drinks and after about 30 mins started banging on about City fans and our club.

He said he'd worked in Abu Dhabi and that the locals hated City and our owners. He also started to call us fans cockroaches. Gushing with praise for Leicester though!

Who gives a fuck what the locals of Abu Dhabi think. We're gonna spend it all and win the fucking lot, fuck em. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of time. Fuck all the other jealous cunts who secretly want the same at their club, or the jealous istree clubs sad that their time in sun is over.

Was in my local co-op yesterday with my City trakky top on and some dullard mid 40s rag quipped i had some shit on my top pointing to the badge. I just cold stared him and he fucked off sharpish.

I usually say that it must be Champion Shit when a plastic says that to me.

Great post mate (one of many great posts from you, your presence on this forum is much appreciated). You guys had a similar period in the early 20th century (I think?) where you were known as the Bank of England club. Maybe it can happen again?

Any interactions I have with other teams fans (usually United fans) are dealt with using the famous phrase adopted by Theodore Roosevelt.
He used an ancient African adage of - "Speak softly and carry a big stick - you will go far"!!
Obviously in 21st century Manchester,it is unfashionable to carry a big stick.
So I have substituted the big stick with a concealed (in my waistband) expandable ASP baton.
I have only had to draw it once ( but never opened it,the look of surprise on the 4 little Rag shits faces was a joy to behold).
And a couple of Irish Rags never knew how close they came to having broken wrists and shoulder blades ,back in 2004 at Asda Eastlands.
