Our best 11

Just play the 6-1 team every game. Can someone tell me how many times we've played this starting 11 since that day?

.................................Hart

Micah...............Vinnie...........Lescott..............Clichy

.......................Yaya............Barry

.............Milner...............................Silva

.......................Aguero...........Mario

Clichy and Micah providing the width like they did at the beginning of the season, I'd be confident of this team winning every game we have left.

It's when you start pissing about with Kolo, NDJ, Kolarov and Dzeko that we begin to function incorrectly.

Vinnie is injured as is Lescott as is Barry, as is Silva. They can't play if they are not fit.

When all fit,i believe we only have 3 places up for grabs.

-------------Hart----------
Richards-Komps-Lescott-Clichy
-------Yaya---Place------
---Aguero---Silva---Place
-----------Place----------

Those 3,IMO,should go to DJ,Mario and Tevez.

It's very difficult to pick a 'best' first 11 at City because a lot of the squad players are similar in terms of ability.

For example De Jong may be a better option than Barry at the moment, but may not be in 6 weeks time. Or Balotelli might be in a rich vein of form so he is the better option than Dzeko. Or Kolorav may be currently a better option than Clichy but may not be next month.

IMO the only players that would be a constant in a Manchester City 'best' 11 are Hart, Richards, Kompany, Yaya Toure, Silva and Aguero (and i'd probably include Tevez if things were different). The other positions are purely decided by form.

you are quite right for a rag fan, except for the Richards part. Zab could take his place, but Micah is favoured because of his size and tenure, and him being English. i suppose you are a gamer as well?
then again the outsiders always see the big picture more clearer than others ie the ones with blue-tinted specs on.

but then again why are you posting about the City squad as a rival fan in the first place

IMO Richards is your best RB by a fair bit. I liken Zabaleta to John O'Shea, solid and reliable but not top class or a great attacking threat. For me he should have been starting more games than he has done this season.

With regards myself I am a match goer from Ireland. Have a season ticket and get over as often as I can.

Why I'm commenting on the City squad? Because I have a big interest in City these days as they are so highly competitive with us now, so I guess that's kind of natural. I like chatting about football as well, and from reading this forum there are a good few excellent posters on here. I hate discussing football on United forums because most of them are biased beyond belief or too knee jerk for me liking, and it kind of winds me up because it gets on my nerves how spoiled they act. I know when United are discussed on here a few posters come out with a lot of guff as well, but I don't get wound up because I expect that from some City fans so I just usually laugh at the ridiculous stuff.

I think I remember this squad making it 3:1. Then RM 'pissed around' and Dzeko made it 6:1. One of a very few good pisses RM has taken this season.

Hart, Richards, Kompany, Yaya, SIlva, Pizzaro, Aguero, A CD, an LB, and 2 other players based on form, strategy and formation: So any 2 of Balo, Dzeko,Nasri, Milner, Barry. Tevez

That is our best 11.

If fit and available:

Hart
Richards Kompany Lescott Clichy
Silva Toure Barry Kolorov
Aguero Dzeko.

In my simplistic opinion teams have worked out our early season killer pass method of breaking them down especially when we are away. They just set up two lines of five and four in front of us and we get frustrated UNLESS we go in front and they have to come and have a go.
I hate the PLAN B cliche that gets trotted out. What we need is options on the pitch. One thing that is apparent to me is whenever Yaya plays deep we struggle every time. Play him high up the pitch ALWAYS.
Kolorov is a gash defender, absolute shite, I don't even know why he is classed as such anymore, but I would play him with a bona fide leftback behind him and his brief would be to watch for the opposition overlaps, but keep them on the back foot by offering an outlet on the left and every single opportunity he gets, cross cross fucking cross into Dzeko.
Dzeko is being used wrong, he will score far more if you get crosses into him relentlessly.
When we're not crossing to Dzeko, Silva will be looking for the erstwhile highly successful ball into Sergio, and if that doesn't work the ever present threat of Yaya will be there to make goals from nothing. ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK home and away for 10 games.
COME ON CITY!

-------------------------------Hart--------------------------

Richards---------Kompany--------Lescott---------Clichy

Yaya------------Barry---------------Silva-----------Milner

------------------Aguero----------Balotelli-----------------

simply the best

I go along with those who say we don't have a best eleven. I think we have seven players who, on this season's form, ought to be in most starting elevens i.e.

Hart

Richards
Kompany
Lescott

Yaya
Silva

Aguero

These are the players you miss the most when they don't play.
