Our free flowing play must have been restricted.

Why is it always Mancini's fault?

I blame you personally. You have been far too positive lately. I hope you have been spreading doom and gloom in the matchday thread. If not, then please go and do so ;-)

I think I'm a bit more patient this season. I still worry and get stressed from time to time, but after Sunday's game can you really blame me?

Sorry i wont post my opinion on the forum in future, it was stupid of me.

Sorry OP but you're just plain wrong imo. Mancini was actually complaining we were too gung ho at the end of Sunday because the whole team was attacking still when they scored. That doesn't sound like restriction to me, he only wanted to tighten up in the last 10 when it looked like we'd never score.

I dont want you to change, Im uncomfortable with it. It wasnt a criticism, it brings us luck. Go and post you think we might lose or something.

I think it was after the Napoli game that (according to one of Douglas Higginbottom's training reports) Mancini began working on the off-the-ball positioning of the midfielders and wingbacks as a contingency for when we lost the ball as a means of quelling any counter-attack. But I'm not sure it's that what's frustrating us.

We played Norwich after the Napoli game and I think our performance, contrary to the belief of some, is up there with United and Spurs away. In the first half especially (though it was only 1-0 at the time), Norwich couldn't live with us and we looked like one of the best teams on the planet.

The problem quite simply is, to their credit, created by other teams and not of our own doing, imo. Teams are letting us have possession (something which is new to most of the players) being quite content to let us play in front of them. There's things we can do better to break through that problem (Nasri and Yaya releasing possession earlier, less rigidity with our formation, forward players being more greedy), but I think that will come with time.

At Eastlands, the pitch is much wider than other grounds and unless you put 5 (Napoli) or 6 (Stoke) at the back, there's going to be enough space to get in. So really our problem only comes into being when we play away. And let's have it right, it's not much of a problem given the extent of our domination of possession.

All that needs to happen is minor tweaks - be a little better, a little braver and make sure we keep our heads - and eventually we'll earn the breakthroughs to see off most of these teams.

Given the talent we have, I think this league is ours to lose. And tbh, I can't see us losing this one. 'Not in my lifetime' as it were.

We're not doing much differently. We've played with high full backs all season, we've played with wide men that drift infield all season, we've played with 2 upfront all season (in general, the only exceptions have been when 1 of our 3 strikers had a knock), we've played a possession game all season, focusing on short passes. It's the opposition that have changed, not us. But fair play to them - they've all scouted us extensively, watched the games where we've struggled and have come up with a game plan to stop us. I'd expect them to do so. It's now down to Mancini to find a solution.

evert team has a bad spelll. lets hope its a short one. come on city, forget may win tonight then think of next game. which incidently you must win as well

Theres a grain of truth in your original post. We are not attacking as quickly or incisively as we were. I'd put this down to the inclusion of nasri who plays at a slower pace and takes 3/4 touches, and a dip in silva's form.

It will come right. We have also had a shitload of bad luck this last few weeks. That will change .

Can't wait for tonight, I think we will put our little demons to bed
