Our highest ever Premier League finish

As long as we're pushing them to the very end of the very last game of the season, I'd say this is progress. I'm guessing it was 05/06 when Fowler missed the penalty against Boro, and 07/08 when they beat us 8-1. If you were to tell me then that in 11/12 we were fighting for the title on the last day of the season, I'd tell you to politely fuck off. If you were to tell me that wasn't progress, I'd tell you to swiftly fuck off.

If we finish 2nd I'll be gutted, absolutely gutted. We had this title in our grasp and we've let it slip through our fingers.

Some might say we should be first now. If Fulham had been given that penalty, the mood on this forum would be completely different. We can't fight bad decisions.

I did read the whole thread n apologise for my sarcy comment. However I do actually think that the title of the thread does a dis-service to your season. Your owners/manager/team have guaranteed you your best league finish in 35 years - why demean their achievement (intentionally or otherwise) by using the premier league as a barometer. It annoys me no end ti constantly hear talk (from both media and fans) of records that only relate to the last 20 years of top flight football. No offence intended..

Brilliant! In the time-honoured words of Andy Gray: take a bow son.
