you missed poli, fabbrini and bacinovic in that list............ ganso and coutinho too.........
Have never seen Poli play... If you are talking about the ex-Sampdoria kid. Like Fabbrini's style but he needs better competition... Don't rate Bacinovic... Too inconsistent at the moment. And yes I missed many many prospects on my list :) i can't mention them all, nor do I even know them all, or have had a good look at them. Ganso is Fabulous, Coutihno is skilled but inconsistent. I guess most young players are.

renato is an inconsistent player to be fair....... vidal is a good shot though.......
schwaab is good......... but micah is better..........
santon is the next big wing back though.............. if we can sign him,i would be pretty happy....... he can play at lb too.............
I don't know why, but I never liked Santon. He seems Awkward to me.
Hey albindgreat are you Italian? coz you seem to be an aficionado on Italian football :)

no mate....... i am not an italian........ i am an indian...............
i follow football very much......... not only bpl, almost every good leagues........ and i beleive italian german and spanish leagues are always a step ahead of bpl in producing talents..........

poli is a 20 year old who plays for sampdoria............ he is a regualr starter alongside palombo and italians beleive he is the heir of pirlo...... milan have already set sights on him.........

santon hasnt played much or improved for the past 2 years....... he has been almost the whole time injured.......... hope to see the best of him in coming years..... him, giovinco and balotelli are considered to be the new golden generation of italy.......

i like italy though... like juve n milan too....... they are my favourite teams alongside city... to be fair,i have been a city fan only since the thai minister tookover the club.... i didn watch much pl before it...... but once i started watching city,i have always supported them....... and i hate manchester united too much........ i just want city to destroy them in semi final now.......

-- Wed Mar 16, 2011 2:19 pm --

where are you from daxx???????... has been in the forum only for a week.... didn come across many city supporters who had a wide knowledge about players, like u......

I'm a bit careful about getting my hopes up for Italian players, or Brazilian. They seem to lack something when it comes to competing in the Premiership.

I would rather see we went for players from Britain, Germany, Holland, Belgium, the Balkan states, maybe Spain and so on. Or Argentinians if we need to look outside of Europe.

what about zola,dicainio carbone, vialli,de matteo,ravanelli......................

they all had good times in bpl........

i cant name many brazilians though.... giovanni was good for wolves.......

speaking about the flops here, bernardo corradi and andreas dossena were flops.....

corradi was at the wrong end of his career...

bianchi was a good player.. i wont rate him as a flop... he was just not given enough time by us............
and aqualani was destroyed by rafa...............

so i cant name much italian flops.............

Why are you doing this: ........................ so much? :D

I dont think you should judge from what country. You should judge the skill and if he is fit. And what kind of personality he has.

They should alo be ready for bad weather. If you are only used to sunny beaches then Manchester is maybe the wrong place to go.

Mancini is an italian so i think he likes to watch the league and knows the players.

I dont know about your suggestion of Montolivo etc...idk what Mancini is looking for. Maybe it's him. Who knows?

Those were different times though, right? But yes of course, there are exceptions, and my post wasn't based on science, just my gut feeling.

Aquilani, whom you mention, was rated as one of the best players in Europe when he went to Liverpool. He was handed loads of opportunities to do well for his new club, but failed to do so, game too fast, too hard, too many games, too little rest and so on.
Young much-talked-about players today, the kind we are looking to sign, seem to be more pop-star prima donnas, than hard working football players. Balotelli is an obvious example, so was Robinho. I think many of those coming here are a bit shocked, and maybe rather quickly begins to question their decision to come here. I would also, after all we are all humans.

I would like to see more level headed fighters coming here, who sign because they are ready to give their all for the club, who wont complain and whine as soon as they feel not treated as kings.

I want the Zabaleta's, the Kompany's and so on, but of course I realize that extra magic is also needed, but that can be found with players who seem to naturally be equipped with a better mentality, more suited for the English game than others. Lucas in Liverpool is a good example of one Brazilian who has managed to adapt very well, so was Gilberto Silva at Arsenal.

If you get them really young I guess this would be no problem, but well established mega-stars who are already worshipped in Italy or Brazil might have a harder time adjusting to the requirements over here.

For this reason I don't think signing Kaka for example, would be he greatest thing for us. I doubt he would be able to do for us what he did for AC Milan.

-- Wed Mar 16, 2011 2:06 pm --

This is of course 100% correct, with the personality and mentality being of equal importance as skill and physique.

skill matters a lot above personality mates................... especially with what city can attract...... most top players wont come here even if we give them tonns of money........... so we have to take risk with some players......... and balotelli is coming good...... then y u should moan about him...........

Balotelli is a ghana-born player. Many of these english black players are from african descent. Balotelli could have ended up being adopted by an english family. Then he would be now english. He is not really an italian in that way. But he has lived his whole life there. And is now more like an italian. Because he talks the language and things like that.

He is strong...and his body and style suits english football. Just like many other african-born players.

But of course...i think italians could do well here. You just have to find the right guy.

could that be us in for Pastore?

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has hit back at claims Napoli could be interested in signing Javier Pastore by claiming he was already considering a €50million (£43million) offer.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City are all said to be keen on the 21-year-old Argentina international.

Pastore has already declared he is happy to stay in Sicily, but a summer move is being widely predicted as Palermo are currently floundering in mid-table.

Serie A surprise package Napoli had even been linked, something which Zamparini quickly dismissed.

"Javier is out of Napoli's reach," Zamparini told Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Besides, I have already received a €50m offer for Pastore and still have to give an answer.

"If I were Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, I wouldn't sign him for that price."

We'll buy who we want! We'll buy who we waaaannnntt! We are MAN CITY! We'll buy who we want!

balotelli is not a ghana born... he was born in palermo to ghanaian parents................
