Balotelli is a ghana-born player. Many of these english black players are from african descent. Balotelli could have ended up being adopted by an english family. Then he would be now english. He is not really an italian in that way. But he has lived his whole life there. And is now more like an italian. Because he talks the language and things like that.

He is strong...and his body and style suits english football. Just like many other african-born players.

But of course...i think italians could do well here. You just have to find the right guy.

Oh well...still he is african who speaks italy and has learned their culture.

We need some wingers! We play too narrow and that is where we fall short. We can only play through teams and can't get in behind them! We do need an attacking midfielder, like Silva, but we are crying out for 2 fast wingers who can win a game for us like Lennon and Bale do for Spurs. We only have AJ.
Sanchez, Hazard, Navas, Robben, Ribery or Krasic. We need players with blistering pace that can hurt teams!

Ribery no thanks, Navas gets home sick, Robben injury prone, Krasic only just signed for Juventus, Hazard will to go to gunners. Sanchez for us then and the best of the bunch in my opinion.

Wingers could be the answer, but from what I have seen, and I am not an expert on football tactics, the problem seems to lay elsewhere.
We move the ball dreadfully slow from back four onwards. The ball goes from defender to defender, to a defensive mid, back to defenders and so on. It hurts me to see how often the recipient of the ball is standing still, or worse, stops when he gets the ball, looks around for a second or two with nowhere to pass it but back again. It usually ends with a long ball which leads to a loss of possession.

The ball must go easier a lot quicker from back line to creative mid to forward. De Jong does not have the vision for this (still love the man though!) Tevez should not be the one that have to run all the way back to get something started, nor should Dzeko.

One more like Silva please. That may not solve all our problems, but in my book it is the most urgent one to fix. We have seen some great suggestions of possible options in this thread. I personally still hold Pastore as my first choice.

Pastore Sanchez Coentrao Subotic would all be in the starting 11 along with De Jong Silva Kompany Hart Tevez Richards and Dzeko. With a team like that we wouldn't need 3 defensive midfielders.

I see you've gone from 7 to 4 :) Slowly but surely, you will dwindle down to 2 and at most 3. Then we'll have a realistic number :)

In the long run, I believe you'd have to drop your Subotic dream. I am almost certain of it that we wouldn't get him. 1) Coz Dortmund will be in the CL 2) Coz he has formed an amazing partnership with Hummels 3) that partnership could run for a decade. I mean the core of the team could run for a decade, they are so you,. 4) They don't need money, they are financially solvent 5) We probably will have no interest in a CD come the end of the season.

I think 2 of the other 3 will be just fine. Coentrao and Sanchez perhaps! And we need to start unerthing talents from the bench of other teams. That is how Dortmund found Hummels.

I'm not budging on Sanchez & Coentrao... Lol. You are probably right about Subotic and I suspect Pastore will be just 2 expensive. Still think Loach plus the other 2 is very possible.
