I still don't understand why mancini insists on playing yaya in that attacking midfield role it works if your playing not to lose. Having silva on the right wing is a waste of space because he never stays there so we end up leaving AJ out. yaya said numerous time he prefers cdm so why put him attacking midfield role is beyond me.

No to Hamsick, he isn't bad but is vastly overrated and would struggle in England and we need a top first choice player to replace Barry. Weiss outshined him at the World Cup and Weiss according to many of our fans "isn't good enough for where we want to go" (which is apparently 25 world class players in their eyes).

Not so sure about that...
History suggests that when Gareth Barry is fit,he plays. It was the same at Brighton as a youngster,at Villa season after season,for England and for City,under both Hughes and Bobby.
You may not notice what work he gets through in his unsung role,but all his professional managers do. With our supposed leaden-footed midfield,full of negative ,fatigued players we sit 3rd and have out-scored the media darlings,spurs.
Anyone who thinks Bobby is actively looking for another attacking midfielder to play alongside Silva and in place of Barry probably doesn,t understand what Mancini is all about.

We need someone like Xabi Alonso, someone who can create from deep, help out de Jong defensively a little and get the ball to players like Silva, Adam Johnson and Balotelli quickly, try to cut down the build up time in attack.
That's all we need really, ofcourse backup to Silva and Hart would be good...possibly some young striker that's better than Jö, and maybe a few youngsters, maybe a centre back if Kolo Touré gets a lengthy ban from Fergie...

If the goal is to replace Barry with someone who can actually create from deep, the 2 best prospects at this right now are
1. Luka Modric from Spurs
2. Nuri Sahin ffro Dortmund
Luka will be extremely expensive (35 million or more), and Nuri will probably not be move-able. At least not right now. Dortmund is on a unique high and leaving probably isn't in anyone's interest. Others who can play the role include, Hernanez, Asamoah, Javi Martinez and Javi Hernandez.
I think we will end up in a 4231 formation eventually. One tackling DM and another creative one. To be honest I think we already have both players in Dejong (Tackling DM) and Yaya (creative DM)
But if we stay in that slanted 4 man midfield formation of De Jong, Barry, Yaya and Silva. I believe we might as well go and get Modric or Sahin to take over Barry's spot and make it more dynamic.
But if we decide to drop Yaya into Barry's role (which is most likely) we can go and get an actual AM to play Yaya's present role. My favorite is Pastore, but Modric, Goetze, Sylfi, Jovetic, Banega, Sneidjer, Muniain, Holtzby, Carlos Martins, Alacantra, and perhaps even Assulin all fit the bill.
Thus, it really depends on how we want to play the role.
