The absolute last thing City needs is another defensive midfielder.

I've said it before, I would take Wesley Sneijder! Get him early in the transfer window and get his fitness levels up for the start of the season. He'd compliment Silva perfectly. He's more box to box, his passing range is longer, he tackles well, he finds space for himself as well as Silva and can score goals in abundance. He'd me my number one buy in the summer!

----------De Jong---------
------Yaya----Sneijder-----
-----------Silva-------------
----Dzeko-------Balotelli-----

Yaya playing more defensivly as he says he prefers it but no harm in him boosting an attack. If Yaya stays deep then play Kolarov and (whoever is at right back) high up the pitch.

It seems everyone is convinced Tevez is off. I don't actually think he would find a buyer.

We have to be realistic in our thinking. A player who just moved to a new club this season is not going to switch to another club unless he is having a torrid time at said present club.

Thus, any player who is having a great season at a new club will probably stay a second one. Even if the player did not want to come to the club to start with, he is likely to stay 2 seasons. Tevez, Robihno are examples with us.

Players don't leave after one year of having a great season at a new big club. So Merieles (who is having a good season at Pool) will not be moving any time soon.

Not that we even need to be chasing him anyway. There are too many good players at smaller clubs waiting to move on to bigger ones. Why waste time trying to wrestle an a guy from another big club. And yes Pool is a big club!!!

What happend to Rodwell, we will have to buy English to meet the regs. I suspect Rodwell will be Barry's understudy/replacement

With Tevez maybe moving on in the summer, we'll have Dzeko and Balotelli up front; a magnificent striker duo, and behind them they will have Silva to provide them with goalscoring opportunities.

But Silve is not enough, nor is AJ or sticking Kolarov at the left: we need a creative and quick midfielder who knows how to score this summer. Michael Johnson, as much as it hurts me admitting, will not be up to the standard we are looking for.

So, - who is potentially available and who would consider joining us?

I'll name a few, in no specific order, who I think are among the best in the world right now:

Iniesta - Ideal but impossible
Xavi - Ideal but even more impossible
Fabregas - Very unlikely (and he's too much of a prick anyway)
Xabi Alonso - Very unlikley
Gerrard - Nope, too old
Lampard - Nope, and too old anyway
Kaka - Will maybe... but will he find his way back to his prime I wonder. He would be a huge gamble.
De Rossi - Maybe possible?
Pastore - Likely?
Ozil - Very unlikely
Sneijder - Would be very interesting indeed, and maybe possible?
Gourcuff - Maybe?

There really aren't that many to choose from wouldn't you agree? Who's name am I missing of a plausible target for us in the summer market, and who would you like to see as our new attacking midfielder to play with Silva next season?

we never know until he gets himself fit and earns himself in the team!

he has (had) the abilty to be one of the best! he might still have that lets give him a try!

I fully agree, but I think we need that additional midfielder as soon as possible, and MJ will need more time to get back to his best.
