Our plastics have arrived!

I think its great that we are slowly becoming more interesting to folk who would normally become a rag, every single City fans should get a pat on the back.

I support City because they were my local club, if I wasn't a City fan I would probably support a team that I had an a affinity to.

Every shirt bought is a big plus for City and the twatini's fairplay shite and in the process we're taking cash directly out of the rags pockets. Either way I will always be happy to welcome a new blue.

I've lived in the south west for 5 years now. When I first moved down, I was the only city fan in my local which was populated by rags, fake scousers and a few arsenal, spurs and chelsea fans.

5 years later and I am one of 3 City fans. One of them likes City because 'all his mates were rags and he wanted to be different' (fair play), and the other claims to have a gran from altrincham. Neither of them are from Manchester or have ever been to Maine Road (or Coms)

In addition I see more and more posts on here using strange 'isms', like referring to the Premiership as the EPL, and saying 'City is' instead of 'City are'.

I have a feeling that this is the start of a transformation that I guess is inevitable, but I find it hard to stomach because I've been slating rags for it for years.

What are your thoughts on it?
City 'is' is correct grammar. But you're right, we don't use correct grammar in our general speech so it sounds funny. Still, it'll only become a problem if these newcomers price us out of our seats and I can't see that happening anytime soon.

I think this is it. The only issue for me is how much interest they take in the club. If they take the time to learn about the history etc such as the American's comment about Streymur earlier in the thread, then I like that.

Edit and just to add - it's a really interesting post that has crossed my mind in the last couple of years quite a lot.

I Think Its Good, Espec For Us Living Abroad, I Was Born In Manchester, But Raised Down South, Before Moving Out To New Zealand Few Years Ago..

Finally Starting To See City Shirts In Stores Here... Usually Only Get Scum Or Chelski Shirts, Pisses Me Off.

Plus Now When I Say Im From Manchester, People Might Stop Assumin I Support Scum!

There is so much irony in this post, every time it's read, a kitten chokes on a hairball.

Tell 'em to bugger off and support their local team, like my Warrington post code has exposed me as a plastic!

If a blue is a blue, I don't give a stuff where they are from.

Spread the word, and if they come from all corners of the world, then that's great.

Is anyone on here going to tell the supporters in Sierra Leone to stop being plastic?

My thoughts are, I welcome anyone, from wherever you are to join and support my beloved City. Always remembering we all went to our first game at some stage in our lives. Mine was Gig Lane in 1966. Result Bury 2 City 1. Welcome one and all!

WIth respect, I am a new fan, and let me assure you City are easy Club to get addicted. I cannot wait to come back to Manchester and party with you all again...I came over in November for the Derby and Birmingham City matches. Let me share a couple observations about my visit...Manchester women are stunningly beautiful. So many skirts, and do you remember the wind that week! And Manchester women love American accents. It was either that or my pecs, but I digress. My point is if it comes down to me not adapting all the Mancunisms of English and it offends a few on this forum, or it helps me meet birds at Sinclair's Oyster Bar, I pick the accent for me.

Let me say this, American football playoffs are on, and I am watching Leicester and Millwall, still brooding about the Villa loss--never could have seen this happening two years before world cup. You all are blesses to have a cool city with beautiful women and people in the bars are so fun to drink with, and City are so easy to get truly addicted to. The drama is constant, the hopes so high, and the spectre of 'typical City" always seems to linger at even a small level.

I have not taken a troller to the Faroe Islands, yet, but I cannot wait to have my City stories from around the world...Rest assured you party with me on a City weekend, its on like Donkey Kong...

Besides, when it came to "plastics", everyone seemed to accept my plastic debit card just fine at the pubs around Manchester...but again, I digress. Cheers!

That.. deserves its own thread...
