Our Vincent

Ahh. I didn’t like it one bit. I really like komapny and hopes he does well at Burnley but for me that was a bit to much of a show. The whole you won’t like me when I get mad rubbish. All felt a bit contrived and digging out the players like that. Not sure he has to go down that route if shouting and digging players out like that.

I imagined he would be more constructive and a bit more intelligent with a team talk. Felt a bit division four/conference type managing. Kompany is better than that.

Then to be be fair I guess he has only just started in management so may be trying to find his feet.

It wasn't exactly revolutionary, was it?

That sort of rhetoric is in the armoury of even the shitest, least qualified football manager. It isn't exactly awe inspiring. The players wl have heard it all before.

I hold Vincent in higher regard than that. He obviously judged that the situation required that sort of show but if it did, it probably means that his club was struggling at the time.

A good leader will have a plan. That’s one side of the story, what followed in the next time he saw them?

From what I remember, Burnley are top of the league?

I find with my team in work that a bollocking is better delivered like a disappointed father who expects better and feels let down

Straight out of the Pep playbook that one. Not angry, just disappointed. Will protect them in front of the media, take the blame for them, but in the changing room he'll be honest.

Don't get this hankering for ex City players to become our future managers.
It's been Vierra and Rosler in the past ( I'm sure there have been plenty more suggestions) and now it's Vinny.
Personally, I think it should be the most experienced and able man that will fit our needs at the time.
Which club they played for (if any) shouldn't even be a consideration.

I agree - its a bit of a raggy/dipperish approach in my book. However what if Arteta won the PL this year and continued to be Pep's biggest challenger. Do we not try and prise him away from Arsenal simply because he was part of the City set up previously?

He said ex players to be fair.

Kompany needs a couple more clubs before coming to City I think. Burnley will always be relegation fodder, needs to be tested somewhere.

Yeah I was just being Devils Advocate in many ways - I just feel that in many ways the dippers obsession with the boot room succession and some ex-[layers of managers in part contributed to their wilderness years and we all saw the rags with Olly at the wheel.......................we do just need to focus on the best available coach for the job and only think about what their past looks like at recruitment time

Prise him away because we think he's the best man for the job and for that reason only.
The fact that he has a previous link to City should be purely coincidental.
