Ousmane Dembélé

Raheem is a grafter and plenty of skill but in terms of a football brain he leaves a lot to be desired.

You do not win Champions Leagues with Raheems.

Sorry but that's the truth.

I disagree, as Raz's football intelligence is quite high.

He makes excellent runs that come from this intelligence. It's confidence in the final third, and how it affects his composure and finishing. When he's not in a panic he's a very smart player.

Meanwhile the idea that we'd swap him for Dembele is also an issue relating to our need for HG players.

Problem, as others have suggested with this rumour, is that he's not a finisher, which is exactly what we need from the wing.

He looked an awesome finisher when i watched dortumunds games in last years pre season.

His goal vs UTD was brilliant.

I understand you were replying, but finishing is supposed to be a weakness, yet Raheem scores the same, already, in the Prem.

I think Dembele is a very exciting talent, but Raheem in his own way, does the same, in the Prem & has a better pass success rate for England, than Dembele does for Dortmund. In fact I think Joleon Lescott does.

I think we have a tendancy to go wildly over the top with new toys & disrespect what we have.
This.

Absolutely, and more than once he's shown incredible composure in the area. The one where he just slipped it down the side of the keeper last season was great, or that finish from a ridiculously tight angle after weighing up the options. As he gets more experienced, we'll see more of that and less of the poor end product that he sometimes has. What he needs to work on more, and perhaps will never be great at, is his longer range striking of the ball. He can't deliver the sort of wicked cross that KDB is capable of, and isn't the most reliable in space on the edge of the box with a shooting opportunity. Also both wingers need to improve their ability to receive and hold onto the ball in any position like Silva or Toure can. Bernardo will give them something to think about in that respect too. But it's massively in our interests to make Sterling world class rather than bringing in another youngster for even more money and reducing his opportunities to get on the pitch.

Having said that, France look like they're building an incredible squad. They're going to be one of the favourites for the next World Cup.

10 goals in all competitions last season, but his assists are where he shines. 18 in all competitions. From what I've seen, he's good at cutting in and shooting from range. I'm not sure it would be a sensible use of £79m though. I think we've got three potentially world class youngsters capable of playing on the wings already (four if you include Jesus), and on average, they cost half that. You can't just buy every talented young player that emerges every year.
