outpricing and moving longterm season ticket holders

The new prices will include access to a sports bar on level 2 concourse I believe so semi corporate. I can see why companies might be interested in a couple of these but for the long standing match day fan, these gimmicks don't really mean a lot.

I got the letter but I actually see it as a positive for me and the lad. I currently pay around £780 for CB level 2 padded seats and the letter indicated that we will get first dibs on the new stand. I am bored where I am, sick of getting dodgy looks for swearing and shouting and surrounded by corporates or families treating themselves. I have around 7/8 regular near me and I will miss the banter etc with them but not the rest of it.

I quite like the look of that new stand and if I can get first 3/4 rows in there for £599 a season, I will be happy with that. I might even go for the £299 ones at the back and then when I miss the odd game, it doesn't cost as much and not bothered at that price if it stays empty. At least it won't be seen up there!!!

It's not really a stadium expansion is it? They are just making room for all the fans they are kicking out of level 2.

Spot on, though most of the people around me in block 229 say they won't renew at all rather than move to anything further back than the first few rows of the third tier. So to keep these fans the club needs to hope that plenty of fans in level 1 move to the second or third tiers.

I'm not upset and knew the price hike was coming. Given the price hike in level 2 I might even givenSuperbia more thought.

The issue for me is have the Club re-evaluated after a few cock ups trying to get a more middle class fan base, including:
A) Forever Blue
B) City Circles - and
C) the whole of the North Stand becoming the Family Stand

If the Club have thousands of Corporates queueing up then I can take the changes in the chin. If the Club is struggling to fill existing corporate seats then it should review and be prepared to change its plans if appropriate!

started as soon as sky moved in, remember the first night sky game was us at Maine road with bloody cheerleaders, said to my mate on the Kippax 'football will never be the same again once sky get a grip' cant see it ever caving in but the lower league's will disappear or certainly become semi pro

Don't you think that's a little bit of a small minded attitude? They haven't asked you to move yet and you don't know whether you will be, and if so what the alternative will be.

One things for certain, the 'tourists' you refer to subsidise everyone else's seat and contribute to the wages of the players you enjoy watching. Hasnt the penny dropped yet that the sheikh wants this club at break even?
And I know a number of blues in the corporate sections who were giving the club two grand a year when we were in the lower divisions. I know one who attends every away game around the world and has done all his life.

If you're such a fucking Superfan maybe you should be a bit more sympathetic to the needs of The Sheikh and The Club.

Not asked me and my mates to move yet but the freshly built walls and markings on the ground tell me the writing is on the alan ball. Only a matter of time. Club could not be more blatant. Small minded? Do me a favour DD. We're talking about fans moved from the maine stand at maine road and who have sat happily together and for years and who have a massive bond. We're being told thanks but fuck off to accommodate non city fans who are prepared to pay a bit more. Absolute joke shop.

I am struggling to see how we will get all these corporates into these middle tiers, people have mentioned about the support getting more middle class i just don't see that at all, the increase in gates since Sheik Mansour took over is not big at all possibly due in part to a restricted capacity, i would say the overwhelming majority of match day fans have been here pre SM and it isn't getting more middle class just a lot older.

Makes you wonder who will actually fill all these seats if level 2 goes corporate... how many wealthy City fans do you know? It's not like we're Arsenal.

Only potential positive of level 2 going corporate is that it could mean prices starting to freeze on levels 1 and 3 because the price rises have been non-stop for years now.

They won't all be City fans (some might be). It'll be a lot of corporate links with bank managers, business owners, sponsors, 'friends' of all these people, invitees of the club, some will be tickets given to the Premier League who will give them out to selected parties and so on.
