Over taking in thirty zone

At least they didn't undertake you!

Hate that with a passion, especially on the motorways. Twats

In regards to OP. I always wonder why people are always in a rush. Like you said, it wasn't like you was doing 20 in a 30 zone. People are just too impatient.

hehe ...

they certainly are in rush hour .......sometimes it seems like it's every man or woman for his or her self , and fuck everyone else around them !

Could be worst, near me there is a junction which is pretty much always dead when you stop at the lights people always fly past you on the wrong side of the road, straight through the red light and also passing through the wrong side of the traffic island on the otherside before getting back on the right side of the road! Hope they crash and burn.

Driving down gorton rd this morning doing thirty or maybe just above, a car over takes me. This has happened a couple of times. This makes me very angry as I feel it is dangerous to pedestrians and cars coming from side roads, because there is chance they would not expect a fast moving vehicle coming from this direction, and also if I was turn you do not expect to be over taken on a single carriage 30 mph rd.

If I was driving very slowly I could understand, I know apart from speeding it is not illegal, but am I right to be annoyed, should I follow the next person who does this and hurt them?
No you shouldn't, you could quite easily be the person who ends up hurt

The way I see it is like this.. Anyone who overtakes you whether speeding or not will only get to the next red traffic light before you..
Nowt better than being overtaken for you to pull up behind them at the next set of lights.
Unless they get to the next lights while they are still green and you don't. And if the lights are sequenced in a particular manner they may get further ahead at each subsequent junction.
It's also possible they'll get to a motorway junction or a long dual carriageway or somewhere else where there isn't a "next set of traffic lights" in a reasonable distance.
interesting so do you often over take people in 30 zones, it is quiet unusual but I guess if you need to make sure the traffic lights don't turn red it might be worth the risk of running over a pedestrian who is looking the wrong way.
No, I never overtake people in 30 zones, I was just pointing out the errors in the argument that you'll catch them at the next lights.

I said next red light, the next 2 or 3 may well be green but eventually you hit a red..In a city its impossible not to.

-- Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:30 pm --

I said nowt better than pulling up behind them at red lights,it doesnt happen all the time, just sometimes..

What I meant was that everyone hits a red light at some time in their journey so overtaking is a false economy as you will be sat at red lights going nowhere fast.

Years ago I was zoomimg dowm the m56, when I passed a girl in an old ford I knew, so as I,(showing off) blasted past here tooting my horn she was just a dot in my rear view mirror. When I got to kendalls car park, and parked my car, she followed me in grinning ,So that taught me then and there that driving like a pratt gets you there no quicker.

overtaking in a 30 should be points to do it safely you would have to be doing over the limit even if the other car was doing20

had a crash last week both cars written off .it wasn't caused by speed though
