Overcrowding on trams from Etihad

This is a good point Kev.

I reckon more people will use the Etihad Campus stop now than say other stops such as Besses Oth' The Barn.

The real cause for congestion is that a large amount of fans will use their cars (including myself)
when the option for the Tram is available...

Even though I bought the Tram Season Ticket I'm still finding myself driving there because of how unreliable the Tram service is.

Improve the reliability of the Trams with more Double-Units, Possible club incentives to not use a car?
Maybe add loyalty points to the metrolink season ticket :P

The club could push the use of Public Transport more though, and encourage us to use it.
Go on Sheikh... Etihad Monorail please :D
When we first moved to the Etihad/Eastlands, My son lives in Droylsden, so my idea was to drive to Droylsden leave my car outside his and get the bus (216), but after having to walk back to Droylsden after the first couple of games I just gave up. So now if I drive I park on Ashton New Rd, a lot nearer too walk after the game. Somebody mentioned Germany before, well the difference in the way the Germans do things is, they try and cut the amount of car use by using the match ticket as a travel pass. In the UK we just put up loads of parking restrictions !

Do the trains still run to United halt on match days, Metrolink web site states Northen Rail will not be using the halt on 5/12 is this a one off or has the service been finished, if the halt is no longer used then there is little chance of any improvement to rail links around the Etihad. As a ex train driver/fat controller I despair of the people running public transport in Greater Manchester.
For City fans it will only improve if the club gets involved.
What do we want?
Double units.
When do we want them?
Now FFS.

Yes months of disruption for the "Second City Crossing" - big deal it provides just one (yes one) extra stop at Exchange Square.

What is the bloody point of that?

Not about stops, having two routes across the city allows more trams to be operated per hour, currently all trains have to go up Mosley Street

Shocking to note that we can leave at the very end of the game & be back home in York by 6.30 whereas you can't get to Altrincham by then. An indictment of the system!!!

It is insane isn't it? Last Saturday was the worst in a while but when it happens it is so frustrating. If i miss the 18:20pm bus from Altrincham the next one home is an hour so such a delay has a big knock on effect.

Still piss poor for a area the size of Greater Manchester, believe Hamburg is around the same size in population as Gtr Manchester
and yet as urban railway system, a underground system and cross city buses, plus local buses. And Manchester is a building a "second city crossing", The next big transfer in Manchester should be to bring in guys that run and organise the transport system in Hamburg !

The tram after the Hull game was fantastic. A swift pint in City Sq and there was no queue, and a tram there waiting. I'm all in favour of smaller attendances now.

It's a shambles for most games though.

Only takes me 50 mins to cleckheaton and I leave end of the game Defo something wrong for you guys going other way
