I think all this talk about him suddenly being shit is immensly overexaggerated. He would still do a terrific job for us. And like I said free transfer, salary based on appearances... no problem.

I didn't say he was shit........i'm just saying we are looking at getting strikers at there peak now and not players on there way down.
Don't you think we have enough midgets in the team as it is?

I think anyone who gets Owen on a free transfer is getting a good deal, his goals to games ratio at this level is as good as the next strikers.

Strikers that score you 10-20 goals (depending on appearances) dont often come around for free!!

If he would be happy to play a bit part role, id take him.

he is by no means the answer at united, and we still need a big signing but you tell me where else you can get a 28(?) year old former european player of the year for nothing...

as long as hes on a pay as you play contract, and fergie doesnt think this is it for the summer im happy
