Oxford (a) post-match thread

My first proper venture into the match day thread tonight, my Lord we have some loons, as for the game, can’t fault the effort of the CB’s both look like they will make it at the top level, Phil needed more ball but still was ahead of any other mid fielder we had on, Raheem’s all round game is off but his ability to sniff a goal uncanny. Well played Oxford they had more about them than Arsenal did at the weekend.

We won, but the performance was crap. Oxford played well but we conceded possession far too easily and our passing was sloppy. Good experience for Garcia and THB and Sterling played OK. Through to the semi's which is the main objective

Crap. You ain't seen crap sunshine. You are right though, we are through to the next round and semi against United hopefully.

Delighted to be in the semifinals after a testing game. Credit to Oxford; they gave us a real examination, but in the end, our class shone through and we got the job done.

Some very good performances tonight, including Raheem, Rodri, little Kevin, both the centre-backs and my MotM, Claudio.

It was a classy touch by Raheem to give his MotM trophy to THB. The lad is a genuinely fantastic example to anyone, not just footballers, but people from all walks of life.

Finally, to all the Hinchcliffe haters, what did he say to upset you tonight?

Some of the senior players performed well below par, would anybody start them against Leicester. The two youngsters in defence did really well, very encouraging. To think we might lose Sane but still have Mahrez feels like a bargain basement deal.

can i say just one thing ????
the game changed when gundogan come on for rodri ?

don't like to point fingers and single out somebody but we are talking about a german international here and he went missing and did not control or help the 2 young center backs, they oxford could and should have got something out of the game late on in the 2nd half, pretty poor from gundogan and he should be coming on taking the ball moving the players and bossing the middle of the park

am not always his biggest fans but i have kept it low key on here when fans have picked on him and in fact defended him ? but tonight i can understand the haters with gundogan

What a cup tie thought we were magnificent 2nd half and very proud of the performance and frustrated aswell, if only we had got that 2nd goal then who knows what would of happened, you showed us the utmost respect, if only we had a raheem sterling. Nice touch from city laying a wreath behind the goal before the game.....top club top manager top fans hope you win it now all the best.........now for our promotion push.

Job done and also must agree about Bernardo, wtf has happened too him?

Form is temporary; class is permanent. He had a hell of a season last term, and hardly any rest in the summer. Added to that, there is no doubt that the totally unwarranted fuss the FA made over his tweet to Ben has taken its toll on him.

If we can get some of his teammates back from injury, it will lessen the load he has to bear.

The match day threads mirror exactly what goes on at live games in the stands. Don’t know why people take it so seriously, the comments are no different to the comments made at games.
