Oxford - Post Match Thread

Congrats guys, this game was more entertaining than Lyon game for me :)

Seeing the youngsters play add more excitement to the game.

Anyway, glad for :

1- Muric first game & Clean sheet
2- Bernabe debut
3- Zinchenko ball control and passing
4- Foden's peformance and goal
5- Diaz performance but disappointed with his injury and clash with Pep.

Diaz contract should be renewed at any cost, he was the best player on the pitch tonight.

Thought he was more of the best dribbler than player. I liked Zee earlier on (1st half) but Fodens 2nd half eclipsed everyone

Diaz is a natural with the ball at his feet. He needs to be smarter about picking the right pass at times. Zinchenko was a standout. Foden was a magician in the 2nd half. Mahrez had a really nice finish but he takes some god awful shots.
Anyone else feel like Jesus has regressed a bit this year? Idk, it's weird.
Happy that Aro and Bernabe got their debuts.

Just got home.
Thought Diaz linked excellently with Silva tonight. Really looked great together.

What a special moment for Phil! Can you imagine that feeling! Stuff of dreams!

Shout out to Zinchenco too, real mature performance from him tonight!

Hopefully the goal for Gabby can give him a much needed boost.
Has looked a shadow of his earlier self since coming back from injury!

Amusing post-game comment by an Oxford fan at the yellowsforum match thread:

It's quite funny reading some of the criticisms here. We played a side who had their 7th choice attacking midfielder/winger playing as their 4th choice left back and repeatedly smashing the ball 60 yards cross field to a 60 million pound Premier League player of the season who was either trying to score or give the ball to a lad that plays up front for Brazil.

Diaz performance but disappointed with his injury and clash with Pep.
It wasn't a "clash", just Pep telling him to be responsible, and go down if injured to get treatment, he's young he won't want to go off injured, but if he is, its better to get treatment, and not make it worse, good management of a young lad.
