Oxford United (A) Pre Match Thread

Pep is quite clearly managing the squad at the moment due to the world cup and the fragmented pre season for some as well as injury to KDB who is vital to the way we play.
I'm hoping it will pay dividends in the long run and we finish the season really strongly whilst the others wilt.
From Peps comments it will be a mixture of youth, experience and 1st teamers against Oxford. Probably a strong bench in case of fuck ups.
Been a while since we played League 1 opposition hasn't It?
They don't look to have been playing that we'll if you look at their league position. Will they go full strength?

I’d be surprised if we rotated mate. We’ve only got about 15 fit players as it is.

Er, no - just over 7 months to be exact. Hopefully Pep will use that experience as a guide for tomorrow night. Don't want to change the lineup too much or it will risk creating a side that aren't used to playing together and is unbalanced. 2-3 youth/fringe players and a bench with half and half more youth/fringe (in case things go well) and first team regulars (in case things go badly). Just my opinion.

Haven't got a clue what the team will be for this one. As long as Foden starts I'll be happy.

I’m almost certain that Pep's Lad will start. And probably Riyad too, following Pep's comments after Saturday's game.

Apart from that, who knows? I think those, who have put forward Aro and Oleks might be right, but after that, your guess is as good as mine.

Let's leave it up to Pep to pick the team. Play a strong team from the start then when we are a couple of goals up then it is the time to ring the changes. After al it is still another trophy that has to be won. With 1 of the big guns having to go out on Wed., be it Liverpool or Chelsea, it all goes to help us retain this trophy.
