The size of that place, you would think they could play Cricket

Err...

"Australia have won more Ashes Tests than England, winning 123 of the 310 matches, compared to England's 100 victories. They have also won more Ashes series than England, winning on 31 occasions, once more than England. There have been five drawn series, and on four of these occasions, Australia have retained the Ashes due to being holders going into the series".

Tongue in cheek mate, was referring to India

Fair enough, but considering the populations of major cricket nations (W.I. apart), they have done very well.

Perth to Darwin = 4396 Klms........have to stop for lunch and the odd piss :)

Maps like these really annoy me as they don't show anything to scale

France is four times the land mass of the UK
Spain three times
Germany more than double
Italy and Poland are about twice
Even Romania is one and a half times that of the UK

When I first looked at this, I agree, that Map of Europe doesn't look to scale to me, France and Germany are much larger, which makes me think that these maps and comparisons are wrong.
I'm happy to be proved wrong though, it just doesn't look like a realistic comparison.

Where have you got your information from to support this, it's simply not true:
1st set of data from wiki (yes I know!), 2nd set of data from onenation.org. Whatever table I pull up I can't make the UK, or GB if you used the island of Great Britain so much significantly smaller. Your post, however, is true if Scotland manages to gain independence ;-)

It appears that the 1st set of data includes some islands if declared by the country and the 2nd set doesn't as I don't recall Poland and Romania having any. (Doesn't explain Italy though with the size of Sardinia & Sicily unless they are viewed as independent).

UK: 243,610 km2...242,900km2
GB: 229,848 km2
France:674,843km2 = 2.77x...551,500km2 = 2.43x
Spain: 505,992km2 = 2.07x...505,992km2 = 2.08x
Germany:357,021km2 = 1.47x...357,022km2 = 1.47x
Italy: 301,338km2 = 1.24x...301,318km2 = 1.24x
Poland:312,685km2 = 1.28x....312,685km2 = 1.29x
Romania:238,391km2 = 0.98x...238,391km2 = 0.98x

Europe's landmass is about a tenth more than Australia, but this does include Scandinavia and Eastern block countries such as the Ukraine, which aren't shown on the illustration
As I said, maps that don't show the true scale are an educational waste of time and quite pointless in topic discussions such as this thread
Another example of how this illustration is completely flawed, it states Darwin - Perth as 4396km
Wick - Alicante, which according to the map should be a similar distance is actually around 2200km
