It's his first season with the senior team, he needs to be brought in slowly. We did the same with Nacho and Pellegrini got dogs abuse on here over it but it was the right thing to do. Guardiola has said he wants to bring the young players in when the team is playing well and getting results, we're not doing either consistently at the moment.

I get what you're saying to a degree and was also hoping he'd get a run out in the next few games but it's a long season yet. Also, I don't think it's a good idea to introduce a young defender whilst we're in relatively poor form and finding it hard to gel at the back.

This was the perfect time to give him some games with Sagna injured and Zaba's body unable to manage as many games as it used to and instead Pep even resorted to sticking Fernando at RB. We were even considering spending £50+ million on Bellerin until he signed a new contract with Arsenal.

I know fans are impatient to see young players coming through, but we need to accept our view of these players can be slightly blue tinted and Pellegrini before and Pep now have a much better idea of if they are ready, talent wise, physically and mentally, we need to trust the people that see them everyday. Think we're impatient cos we have promising players who we let slip away cos we don't give them a chance. Just look at Suarez who is now in the bloody Barca first team. Then we have Maffeo who is really promising but then we are sniffing around Bellerin. We will probably buy 2 new expensive full backs in the summer and he and Angelino will end up leaving.
